Summary created out of 319 reviews

Urban Gardens Ghent is strategically located close to the city centre, with excellent accessibility by bike (15 minutes) or bus (line 11). Guests appreciate the spacious pitches separated by hedges and the campsite's green character. Reception staff are experienced as friendly and helpful. The site is located in a recreational area with free access to a swimming lake and walking opportunities around the water. Renovation works are ongoing: new sanitary blocks are modern and clean, but older blocks urgently need refurbishment. Many visitors complain about muddy pitches after rain, noise pollution from the nearby motorway, and electrical hook-ups located too far away requiring extra-long cables.

A complete transformation compared to the previous campground. I’ll definitely be back—it’s nice and laid-back. It’s clearly still in the process of rebuilding and gaining new momentum. I’d appreciate a more authentic restaurant/bar if I were staying much longer. But as it is now, it’s fine. Both the staff at the check-in desk and the pizza bar were friendly and knowledgeable.

N hele metamorfose tov eerdere camping.

We had a lovely few days at Urban Gardens Gent. The Lodge was spacious, private & comfortable. The weather wasn't kind to us so we didn't use the lake but enjoyed walking & running around it and the broader grounds. Also due to the rain we didn't ride to the centre but used the bus which is very quick & convenient. And what a fabulous city Gent is, a real gem. The staff were friendly & helpful and the pizzas delicious. Highly recommend.

Great campground with good bus service to the center of Ghent.

Beautifully located near the recreational area with swimming.

I think this was my third time there this year; it used to be called Blaarmeersen.

Nice, spacious campsites; the restrooms are good, and a new restroom building has been added.

When we were there (mid-August 2026), they were still in the middle of renovations—the restaurant and reception area were being rebuilt.

The staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful; we’d love to come back again.

Great spot for campers, caravans, and camping.
Transportation via the P+R service costs 0.15 euros per person for 48 hours, right outside the campground, to the main train station. Instructions—including a QR code on the campground map—are also great... It’s best to get off at St. Jacobs; from there, it’s just a good 5 minutes to the city center.
