Stepping into history at Ooidonk Castle

Take the car and after a 20-minute drive, stand in front of Ooidonk Castle, one of the most beautiful castles in Belgium. From April to November, it is possible on Sundays and holidays to take a guided tour of this still-inhabited castle, where you will learn more about the rich history of this medieval fortified castle. In the natural surroundings, you will find endless cycling and walking routes. Less than 2 km from the glamping is the urban nature reserve Bourgoyen-Ossemeersen. This park, which covers 220 hectares, has three hiking trails that take you past beautiful green nature with meadows and forest areas. Tens of thousands of birds perch in this area every year.     Excellent site for exploring the area, easy to get to and from the site. There is construction going on it's not interfering with the pitches. Toilets and showers need up dating but they are OK. Will be amazing when everthing is completed. Number 11 bus from outside in site takes you directly into the beautiful Ghent and returns back to the site. Lake site walks and sports adjacent to the site too. We would visit again.

    Something positive is that the new toilet buildings are very good. Lovely showers with good hot water. Good times for this Camping is coming! But, the old buildings, where cold water comes out of the shower. That is dirty... Then shut it off completely! As well as the places where you camp. They are doing a good job with new spots! But if you offer a spot that is poorly maintained and looks more like a sandbox than a grassy field. Then refuse to rent out such a spot. The pizza! It was perfect! Fine talk with the bakers, maybe a little too expensive, but very tasty!

    Iets positiefs is dat de nieuwe toiletten gebouwen heel goed zijn. Heerlijke douches met goed warm water. Goede tijden voor deze Camping komt er aan! Maar, de oude gebouwen, waar koud water uit de douche komt. Dat vies is... Sluit het dan helemaal af! Evenals de plekken waar je kampeert. Ze zijn goed bezig met nieuwe plekken! Maar als je een plek aanbied dat slecht onderhouden is en meer weg heeft van een zandbak dan een grasveld. Weiger dan zo'n plek te verhuren. De pizza! Die was perfect! Fijn gepraat met de bakkers, misschien wat te duur, maar heel erg lekker!
