Take the car and after a 20-minute drive, stand in front of Ooidonk Castle, one of the most beautiful castles in Belgium. From April to November, it is possible on Sundays and holidays to take a guided tour of this still-inhabited castle, where you will learn more about the rich history of this medieval fortified castle. In July and August also on Saturdays. Would you like to stroll through the beautiful green gardens? That's possible from Tuesday afternoon to Sunday.

Strolling through Ghent
This glamping in East Flanders is less than 5 km from the lively city of Ghent. A city is full of history, old canals, medieval masterpieces, cozy bars, and restaurants. Stroll the streets and discover the beautiful buildings, graffiti, and street art. Discovering Ghent from the water, during a cruise on the Leie, definitely belongs on the list of things not to miss. The Graslei and the Korenlei are the oldest and perhaps the most beautiful and cozy places in Ghent. Here you will find many nice catering establishments. Of course, tasting the real Ghent Noses should not be missed. You can find the best ones in one of the carts on the Groentenmarkt.
Venture into nature
In the natural surroundings, you will find endless cycling and walking routes. Less than 2 km from the glamping is the urban nature reserve Bourgoyen-Ossemeersen. This park, which covers 220 hectares, has three hiking trails that take you past beautiful green nature with meadows and forest areas. Tens of thousands of birds perch in this area every year. There are special bird-watching huts along the way where you can spot the most beautiful birds undisturbed.
Plenty of fun at Blaarmeersen Sports and Recreation Park

Get in a canoe or kayak and paddle up the Leie. Learn to water ski or go pedal boating. For children, there is a water playground with a slide and a sandy beach that completes the recreation park. There is also plenty of fun to be had on dry land. For example, there is a skate park, a climbing rock and you can play mini-golf. For children, there is a large playground with a maze and you can play beach volleyball. The recreation park also has a hiking trail where you can completely relax with a hiking mountain and observation tower to admire the surroundings.

Hello, campsite very close to the center of Gent which remains to be seen by being able very easily to go there by bicycle, bus and close to a base of leisures. A priori circulating on the internet an affiliation with the ACSI card with the opinion of an ACSI inspector ???? Very strange. However, it's a lie, it's not true, or the people at reception don't know anything about it! In short, an update is in order. Clean campsite, fairly large pitch, new toilets ok. The downside: noise from the ring road behind. However, quieter at night (on weekends) = 2 stars. Sincerely Marie

Cordialement Marie

Great campground for visiting Ghent. Public transport close by. Pricey though €94,00 for two nights. No wifi what you would expect with these prices. Also sanitary buildings closed. So walk if you want to use this. Reasonably clean. Also bread service. Reception ok. Just do not meet the intern. Then it all takes a little longer. Must also learn.

Prima camping om Gent te bezoeken. Openbaar vervoer dichtbij. Ontvangst receptie ok. Moet je alleen niet de stagiere treffen. Dan duurt het allemaal wat langer. Moeten ook leren.

A lovely spot, a 10 minute walk from the centre of Ypres. Very helpful staff. Can get busy, even in April, so best to book ahead, which is possible from the UK. Will be even better when the new toilet block is finished.

The good news: We stayed 3 nights in late April and luckily the weather was sunny. which improves everything. Safe & easy cycle ride into Gent in about 20 mins. along the canal. Pitches are in circular blocks and are very spacious and private being screened by hawthorn hedges. Feels like a green oasis for what is essentially a city campsite. Awoke each morning to bird song and rabbits outside the door. Note: Demolition work is ongoing to the old reception area but it never affected our stay. Reception working out of a portacabin. The areas for improvement: For the price the shower/toilet blocks in need of an upgrade. Nearest shower block to us was closed for repair and we were told this on arrival. The other shower block No2 was only 6mins walk. The shower blocks are brick built brutalist like a bomb shelter. The unit we used always seemed to have mud trampled in from users which is off putting but they were cleaned daily and adequate. I would say the shower/ toilet units are tired and in need of an upgrade. A expensive site and at present does not offer good VFM compared to others we have stayed (eg: Bruges) but it’s close to Gent, so you makes your choice!
