Glampingtent Family - Gent - 6 persons

We have been to this site before as it is very close to Menin Gate, museums and restaurants. The site is undergoing renovation but this did not impact on our stay. A gentle walk into the centre is 10 minutes. There is plenty of cycle routes and reception have a good map showing exactly where to go. There is a sports centre behind the site so it can get noisy. This was no problem as we were in and out again after cycling around memorials before finding somewhere to eat before the 8pm ceremony. Staff were very helpful. Will definitely return and look forward to seeing the renovations.

In 2026 price and performance don't fit at all. 46 euros for ,main building demolished, showers not heated, no wifi etc. We were there with the motorhome.

Unfortunately under renovation but very friendly people and very well maintained for a city campsite, lots of greenery and plenty of space. Sanitary facilities great, clean and partly new. We were delighted with the site.

Nice site very handy for exploring Ypres. Nice walks from the site. Site itself is good but most pitches have a slope. Vans can seem a bit crammed in. Electricity is 6A (on our pitch) but we had a site power cut on the day we were leaving. Toilet block is ok, clean and showers were hot but have those push buttons which don't last long. Would visit again.

Location was good relative to Ghent. Also good cycling route. Reception ladies nice but incompetent. No water at campsite, poorly lit and maintained. Well clean plumbing at 6.20 why 1 time cleaning with so many visitors. Drinking water shut off. High price for what you get!

Urban Gardens is an absolutely brilliant location. If we could give it more than 5 stars for location, we would. Easy flat 4.5km cycle along marked and easy to navigate cycle lanes alongside the canal, and into the centre of Gent. The check in staff gave us a very clear cycling map which was so helpful. UG is currently (as of beginning of May 2026) being renovated. On our first morning work started at 7.30am. It is noisy. The ‘old’ bathroom/shower/wash up block is very dated and quite smelly. It is not sufficient to clean it only once a day. The showers were cold, and not nearly sufficient in number. Only 3 and a disabled bathroom were working in the ladies. There was toilet paper in the ladies and men’s bathrooms but no soap in the ladies. There were no laundry facilities, which we have never come across before on any site of this size (excluding just overnight secure hard standing), and we have travelled extensively in Europe. We were directed to a wash bar in the centre of Ghent, which we did check out. But not really very practical to cycle to town carrying your washing, and then to cycle back. No where to leave or store the laundry in town so basically a full day for washing. The WIFI just didn’t work. For the location, we would rate this site and the staff were nice, but the site itself had poor enough facilities.
