Glampingtent Family - Gent - 6 persons

A beautifully situated campsite in the middle of a large city. The directly adjacent bathing lake invites you to linger. Pure nature! Nice and courteous staff. We would love to come back!

Very convenient to visit Ghent. For € 0.15 by bus from P+R. Friendly staff, sandwiches to order at reception. We did not see on the website that there are significant works. Not all sanitary buildings are also in use so at full occupancy maybe a problem. In prolonged bad weather, such as Ascension 2026, the fields appeared to turn into mud puddles. More paved areas and/or drainage would be desirable.

Basically a beautifully laid out campsite, several carrés with 7 pitches, separated from each other by hedges, so that privacy is guaranteed. The fact that the pitches were muddy can only be blamed on the weather gods, who didn't mean well the last few days. The service provided by the WhatsApp bot on arrival was second to none and was top-notch. The staff at reception were also very friendly and helpful. Absolutely recommendable. However, I have to agree with the criticisms regarding the power supply (we arrived with a camper van). We spent a long time looking for the power connections and without extension cables (2 cable drums) it would not have worked. We stood near the sanitary building 2, which has probably not yet been renovated or renewed. The condition inside was ok so far, but the condition of the sinks outside the building was not good at all. The silicone joints were covered in black mold, so we didn't wash up there after all. There is a clear need for improvement here. The campsite is strategically well located and the city center of Ghent is really easy to reach by bus. The traffic on the highway is very audible. This alone would be bearable (after all, you are on a campsite near the city center), but the current noise pollution from the construction site at the entrance area is currently added to this. In summary, the current price of 46 euros per night is simply too high.

We staid here for 2 nights, May 2026. It had been raining really hard. A lot of the site was a quagmire. Whilst this isn’t the site’s fault, it really impacted on our stay. The site helped out, by being flexible with their pitches and providing pallets to bridge muddy puddles. Also, the main centre is being renewed. There is a great bus service to town, but not much near the site. It’s fine. The toilets and showers worked and were clean.

Very expensive, too many people in too few toilets and showers

€51.00 for a piece of grass and toilet building I find very excessive. Reception is being renovated but there is nothing else. Would be nice to give a discount if it is such a ruin, nothing to drink. 1 food truck for pizza. New toilet building is nice.
