This park is beautifully situated along the Semois River in a quiet, wooded area. Guests particularly appreciate the stunning location, friendly and helpful staff, and spacious pitches directly by the water. The park offers a swimming pool, activities for children, and excellent opportunities for hiking and relaxing in nature. However, there are areas for improvement: sanitary facilities receive mixed reviews regarding cleanliness and capacity, the pool is often considered too small and not always clean, and there are complaints about noise, overbooking, and occasional sewage odours. Ongoing construction work during the opening phase is also mentioned as disruptive.

We chose this Huttopia campground for its natural setting and its promise of tranquility. It must be said that the location is magnificent and that the facilities blend perfectly into the surroundings, in keeping with the nature-focused spirit for which Huttopia is known.
However, our stay was very disappointing in every other respect. The campground is extremely noisy. I don’t mind children playing and making noise—that’s part of being on vacation. However, letting children scream right in front of the campsites when there are plenty of designated play areas is inconsiderate. Quiet hours are also not respected: conversations and shouting continue late into the night, then start up again early in the morning, with no regard for the sleep of other campers.
The lack of supervision is also glaring. Everyone seems to do as they please: dishes are washed in the sinks reserved for laundry, and some people even empty their chamber pots into these sinks. Children play in the showers unsupervised, shouting and splashing water everywhere, and the men’s and women’s sections are not respected.
The restrooms are cleaned regularly, but they become dirty again in less than thirty minutes due to the lack of civic-mindedness on the part of some campers. The problem is therefore not solely one of cleaning, but primarily the lack of enforced rules and supervision.
General maintenance also leaves much to be desired: unmowed lawns, untrimmed hedges, and the pool’s hygiene seemed inadequate to us. As for the pizzas served on-site, they are frankly disappointing.
What’s most regrettable is the lack of staff to enforce basic rules of community living: quiet hours, cleanliness of the restrooms, and respect for fellow campers. A campground that markets itself as a quiet place in the heart of nature should be able to maintain a minimum level of order.
And please, don’t just say, “It’s peak season.” The problem isn’t the number of vacationers, but a lack of staff, supervision, and organization. It’s time to restore some order so that this campground can finally live up to the promise of tranquility it advertises.
