Looking for a relaxed nature escape with your crew? Chalet LIJSTERNEST in Oignies is a cozy, detached hideaway in the forest, perfect for up to 6 people. Surrounded by trees and fresh air, it’s the ideal base for a weekend with friends or a laid-back outdoor holiday in the Belgian Ardennes.

Inside, you’ll find a bright and comfy living room where you can chill together after a day outside. Sink into the sofa bed (for 2 extra guests), put on a movie on the TV or DVD player, and enjoy long dinners at the dining table. The open kitchen is fully equipped with electric hotplates, microwave, fridge, freezer and coffee maker – so whether you’re cooking a full meal or just making a late-night snack, you’ve got everything you need.

    Fine chalet, 2 bedrooms and a sofa bed (better for 4 than 6 people). Everything is there, and in a beautiful area where you can walk well. A bit away from the village, and shopping is easiest in Fumay, still a bit further away. Unfortunately it did not feel very welcome, in advance there were already all kinds of (optional) costs for eg bedding, towels and a high deposit (200 euros - which after a good week is not yet back. Takes up to 2 weeks according to Belvilla, up to 1 month according to the park check-in form. Both is far too long in my opinion). On the spot there are additional energy costs, which are still deducted from the deposit. We had to give the meter readings on arrival and departure, so that also seems to me no reason to hold the deposit so long. In addition, you immediately get a price list with fines for cleaning (10 euros for items in the refrigerator, 10 euros per appliance to be cleaned and even more for not picking up linens or taking out garbage, etc.) It was a hefty list. They must have had bad experiences at one time or another, but as said -it didn't feel very cozy. All in all, fine, but so keep in mind the (potential) extra costs.

    Prima chalet, 2 slaapkamers en een slaapbank (beter voor 4 dan voor 6 personen). Alles is aanwezig, en in een mooie omgeving waar je goed kunt wandelen. Iets van het dorp vandaan, en boodschappen doen kan het makkelijkst in Fumay, nog wat verderop. Het voelde helaas niet erg welkom, van tevoren kwamen er al allerlei (optionele) kosten bij voor bijv. beddengoed, handdoeken en een hoge borg (200 euro - die na een ruime week nog niet terug is. Duurt volgens Belvilla tot 2 weken, volgens het check-in formulier van het park tot 1 maand. Beide is naar mijn mening veel te lang.) Ter plekke komen er nog energiekosten bij, die worden nog verrekend met de borg. We moesten bij aankomst en vertrek de meterstanden doorgeven, dus dat lijkt me ook geen reden om de borg zo lang vast te houden. Daarnaast krijg je meteen een prijslijst mee met boetes voor schoonmaak (10 euro voor items in de koelkast, 10 euro per schoon te maken apparaat en nog meer voor het niet afhalen van beddengoed of het wegbrengen van afval, etc.) Het was een flinke lijst. Ze hebben vast ooit slechte ervaringen gehad, maar zoals gezegd -het voelde niet echt gezellig. Al met al prima, maar houd dus rekening met de (potentiële) extra kosten.
