Explore Zwin Nature Park
Visit Zwin Nature Park on the Belgian-Dutch border. This nature park is a large tidal area where saltwater and freshwater environments merge. Follow one of the walking or cycling routes through the reserve and keep your eyes open for waders, geese and rarer migratory species. Those who want a broader view can climb the panoramic tower for sweeping views over the area. During your visit, stop by the Nature Education Centre and read more about the ecosystem or the birds that overwinter here.

Taste Belgian chocolate at Chocolate Story
At Chocolate Story in Bruges, you follow the journey from cocoa bean to chocolate bar. The museum shows how Belgian chocolate built its reputation, from the first cocoa trade to today's finest pralines. In the demonstration centre, you can see how the chocolatiers make chocolate, and yes, of course you can taste what is being made. Afterwards, you will understand exactly why nobody leaves without taking a bag with them!
Walk through the historic centre of Bruges
Experience a day full of history, canals and Belgian charm in Bruges. Walk through the medieval centre, which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and discover atmospheric streets, old façades and bridges over the canals, also known as reien. From the Market Square, you can easily walk to the Belfry and the Burg, while along the way you will find plenty of places for coffee, chocolate, lunch or a drink on a terrace. Minnewater Park and the Beguinage are also lovely stops for those who want to discover the quiet side of the city. Bruges is compact enough to explore on foot, yet special enough to spend an entire day there. Head out and discover why Bruges is so beloved.
Visit the remarkable Sea Life
During your stay, dive into the underwater world of SEA LIFE Blankenberge and discover more than 50 aquariums full of marine animals. You will pass piranhas, sharks, seahorses, penguins, otters and seals, while learning more about rivers, seas and oceans along the way. The seal hospital is particularly special, where stranded or orphaned seals are taken in, cared for and prepared for their return to the sea. In the outdoor area, you can meet Humboldt penguins, otters and seals, and during feeding times you can see the animals up close. A visit is educational, varied and fun for the whole family. Step inside and discover how much life is hidden beneath and around the water.

The park is within walking distance of the beach and offers spacious, well-equipped lodges that are often experienced as clean and comfortable. The location is ideal for visiting nearby coastal towns and cities such as Bruges and Ghent. Unfortunately, cleanliness upon arrival regularly falls short, with complaints about dirty windows, pests (including cockroaches), mould, and insufficiently cleaned corners. The lodges are close together resulting in limited privacy, and the park itself lacks facilities such as a swimming pool, restaurant, or shop. Maintenance and service need improvement, and guests report issues with broken appliances and poor communication from staff.

Overall, the cottages are a great place to relax for a week on vacation on the Belgian coast. The park is within walking distance of the beach and various shops and supermarkets. The rooms are a bit small, but perfectly fine for sleeping. However, the shower stall was attached to the master bedroom, so you couldn’t take a shower if the people sleeping there were still asleep. The service is great; the front desk is open at set times, and you can easily get help there. It’s a shame they close early on Sundays and holidays. There are also a few things missing from the cottage that would be handy to have: dish towels, oven mitts, trash bags, a dish brush, etc. If guests know in advance that these aren’t provided, they can come prepared.

The Landal cottages were great, and the dune vegetation was beautifully landscaped. My only regret is that there are only cottages with a reception desk; there’s nothing for kids or parents to do together. So if you’re going purely for a nice cottage in a great location, this is perfect; if you’re looking for more amenities, I’d look elsewhere.

Everything was as expected when we arrived. No major disappointments. Unfortunately, there are no mosquito nets, but there are a lot of those pests.
We were very annoyed that, when we booked, we were offered lounge chairs for over €32, even though they’re included for free as standard equipment at all the cottages. When we asked, the front desk confirmed this, but told us we’d have to contact Landal directly. We did just that—several times—but we haven’t received a response or a refund in weeks. That’s poor business practice!!! Will we book with Landal again? Probably not. I call this a rip-off, since the stay already cost a lot of money.this is a translation, click here for the original

The amenities at our house matched the description and were perfectly fine. The houses are very close together and, unfortunately, the walls are very thin. It was difficult to sleep when the neighbors were having normal conversations on the patio.
The doors and stairs were also very noisy when used. The windows were very dirty upon arrival, and some of the wall mounts were very wobbly.
The beach was a 10-minute walk away.
The stay was okay, but nothing more than that.this is a translation, click here for the original
