Summary created out of 278 reviews
Camping Lanterna is an extensive holiday park located directly on the Adriatic coast, featuring a wide range of facilities including swimming pools, an aquapark, a sandy beach, and various restaurants. Guests particularly appreciate the cleanliness, friendly staff, modern sanitary facilities, and the wide selection of children's activities. The park offers a well-maintained environment with plenty of entertainment and sports opportunities. The main points of attention are the high prices for extras such as sun loungers, food and drinks, the large distances across the site requiring bikes or scooters, and the crowds during high season when pools and beaches can be overcrowded.

The resort is huge and almost entirely wooded, which is definitely a plus in the height of summer. We really liked the beach promenade, and the pool is quite nice, too. The modern mobile homes right by the ocean are also nice, even if some of them are already in need of a little maintenance. We had a truly amazing view of the ocean.
For … first-time visitors, the huge resort is absolutely confusing and nearly impossible to explore on foot.
On the first day, we walked long distances to various bakeries and laundromats until we found some that were still open. It’s completely understandable that not everything is open anymore in early October. However, it would be helpful to be informed upon arrival about where you can still go.
On top of that, we had the misfortune of not being able to pay by card at the bakeries and laundromats we found on the first day, since card payments apparently weren’t accepted anywhere on the entire campground. We didn’t have any cash.
We ended up getting cash from an ATM for a fee of 6.90€. One load of laundry costs a hefty 9€ (coins only), which, including the fee, set us back an even heftier 15.90€!
After we arrived, we also didn’t have power for a while because the microwave caused a fuse to blow on the street.
We ate out at the campground twice.
At Pizzeria Kras, we had some really bad pizza. I can’t understand why an establishment that calls itself a pizzeria—and has been getting bad reviews for its pizza for years—doesn’t think to maybe tweak the recipe or replace the oven.
Our experience at Bar Monvida was absolutely disastrous. Even though we were the only guests, not a “hello,” not a word. A scoop of ice cream here costs €2.60 and is the size of half a tablespoon, which makes it disappear completely inside a waffle cone. After complaining, we were given a second half tablespoon. Unfortunately, it was also spoiled. (In Poreč, by the way, for €2.50 you get a scoop that fills an entire cup—freshly made and very tasty.)
We decided against visiting any other dining options at the campground after that. Too bad, because with three kids, we’d really have liked to be able to stay on-site for meals.
The location and mobile homes are nice. But our experiences with laundry and dining really put a damper on our vacation.
The mini-club and playground are very good. Unfortunately, with small children, it’s about a 45-minute walk, which is why we only went there once.
When I think about it now—instead of about 100 other guests next to us during peak season, there would be about 10,000—no, thanks. We won’t be coming back.this is a translation, click here for the original
