Beautiful location, but renovation is urgently needed. We’ve been coming to the Porto Sole campground for years now because we’re simply thrilled by the location year after year. The bay is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful in all of Istria, and the direct access to the sea is fantastic. The proximity to town is also perfect—ideal for winding down the evening with a leisurely stroll. Unfortunately, we’ve noticed that the value for money is getting worse year after year. Prices are rising steadily, yet there’s hardly any noticeable investment in the infrastructure. Most of the washhouses are now very old and in urgent need of renovation. The only truly modern and up-to-date restroom facility is located in the exclusive Mare area. Unfortunately, the value proposition doesn’t quite add up for us here: the price difference between the most basic category and a spot in the Mare area is around 30 euros per night. But since even in the more expensive category you often can’t see the sea at all and sometimes have to walk up to 5 minutes to the water, you can actually save yourself that extra cost. In terms of distance, you’re often just as far away from the water at the cheaper Economy or Standard sites—but then you just have to put up with the old restrooms.Bottom line: A beautiful campground with an unbeatable location, but one that urgently needs some TLC and renovation work in the restroom areas to justify the rising prices. We’re happy to come here for a few days for a change of pace because of the location, but we’d love to see some modernizations!

The campground itself is okay in terms of the sites, but the restrooms are very poorly maintained. After 5 days, they still haven’t been cleaned. Pubic hair, urine, and feces are everywhere—even on the walls. Toilet paper isn’t restocked often enough. It’s terrible.

The sites are set in natural surroundings, so they’re not level. Ramps are essential. We were here with our camper van. The campground is great. Everything you need is right there. In my opinion, there aren’t enough showers, so you have to adjust your schedule accordingly. The bay, with its many spots to get into the water, is amazing. The entire coastline is fantastic. There’s room for everyone, and it’s beautiful. The town is also very pretty—small but charming. The best place to eat is in the town, at the restaurants in the second row. Prices are reasonable. The food is great. The service is great. Eating at the campground is more expensive. I find the drink prices disproportionately high. We’d definitely come back.

Alles was man braucht vor Ort. Essen super. Service super. Campingplatz essen gehen teurer. Getränkepreise finde ich unverhältnismäßig. Wir würden wieder kommen.
