⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A lovely, family-friendly campground with a few minor drawbacks

We stayed at Horsens City Camping as a family of two adults and two children and had an XL campsite near the playground. The site was sufficiently large, level, and well-maintained. The standard sites also made a good impression. The sites themselves are grassy areas, and the paths are paved with gravel or crushed stone.

There’s plenty for families to enjoy: The playground with its bouncy cushions is nice, and our kids were especially thrilled by the rabbits. The indoor pool is also lovely, though we found it a bit of a shame that admission isn’t included in the campground fee. Another big plus is the beach, which is about a two-minute walk away and features a small pier.

The restroom facilities were generally clean. They’re located in two different buildings. However, in our opinion, one of them could definitely use some modernization, as there were occasional unpleasant odors there.

The staff and reception were consistently very friendly. The only thing to note is that the reception closes for a break between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. outside of summer vacation.

The atmosphere and tranquility depend somewhat on the chosen campsite. It’s naturally a bit livelier right next to the playground—but we knew that beforehand. If you prefer a quieter spot, there are also campsites located accordingly on the grounds.

One minor downside for us was the Wi-Fi. Unfortunately, the reception at our campsite was very poor. Of course, this may have been due to the location of our campsite or the surrounding trees, but overall, the Wi-Fi coverage could be better.

Overall, we found the campground to be family-friendly, well-maintained, and reasonably priced. The location is a great starting point for day trips around Horsens. We’d definitely come back if the opportunity arises. 👍
