    Huttopia Bourg Saint Maurice is a great campground for exploring the area. Thanks to the free funicular and lifts to Les Arcs, we didn’t need the car all week. The mountains, hiking trails, and activities the area has to offer are fantastic. Right next to the campground is also a beautiful park with a river where you can enjoy a lovely walk (with the dog) or get some exercise.

    I found the campground itself a bit less impressive. The paved paths and campsites, which are on the small side, don’t give you as much of a sense of being in nature as the Huttopia brochures and website suggest. The restrooms are also a bit small, often crowded, and not always very clean. In addition, during the week we stayed here (mid-July 2026), there was no hot water in the restroom building at the campground entrance. All in all, I therefore don’t think this campground deserves the four stars indicated on the sign at the entrance.

    Still, I definitely recommend this campground because of its unique location, the amenities within walking distance, and the beautiful surroundings.

    Huttopia Bourg Saint Maurice is een fijne camping om de omgeving te ontdekken. Dankzij de gratis funicular en liften naar Les Arcs hebben we de auto de hele week niet nodig gehad. De bergen, wandelroutes en activiteiten die het gebied te bieden heeft zijn geweldig. Direct naast de camping ligt bovendien een mooi park met een rivier waar je heerlijk kunt wandelen (met de hond) of sporten.

    De camping zelf vond ik iets minder overtuigend. De geasfalteerde paden en kampeerplaatsen die aan de kleine kant zijn geven minder natuurgevoel dan de Huttopia-brochures en website communiceren. Ook het sanitair is wat klein, regelmatig druk en niet altijd even schoon. Daarnaast was er in de week dat wij hier verbleven (half juli 2026) geen warm water in het sanitairgebouw bij de ingang van de camping. Alles bij elkaar vind ik deze camping daarom niet de vier sterren waard wat wel op het bord bij de ingang staat aangegeven.

    Toch raad ik deze camping zeker aan vanwege de unieke ligging, de voorzieningen op loopafstand en de prachtige omgeving.
