A wonderful stay from June 20 to 22, 2026. Only two nights, but it had everything we were looking for: peace and quiet, comfort, and the great outdoors.
We were there to celebrate our first wedding anniversary.
    - The hospitality was top-notch! The young woman and her colleague make you feel right at home. The advice, instructions, and kindness—it was all there! You can really feel their love for the region, whether in their recommendations for sightseeing or, above all, in their tip about the little restaurant you shouldn’t miss for a romantic evening. I’ll write another post about Le Château d’Arnay, but spoiler alert: A TRUE DELIGHT.
    - In a Roulotte (spot 54), not in the shade but close to the lake (a real treat and very clean, by the way). We rented a gas grill to treat ourselves on the first night. (Note: charcoal grills are prohibited. Bring your own gas or electric grill. If not, no problem: rentals are 9 euros per day. But during peak season, availability can be an issue.)
    - The atmosphere: it’s vacation time! Even though it was off-season, we got to enjoy a really cool little concert. We didn’t stay long—we were busy between the pool and the lake—but it was really nice.
    - Groceries: Aldi (cheap and has a little bit of everything), U Express (a bit further away, but price-wise, don’t bother. Go to the Carrefour Express right next to the campground), Carrefour Express: oh my gosh! The meat counter is incredible! They have vegetables too… really!
In short, a starry sky (we’d forgotten what you can see without light pollution), total relaxation, and a region rich in history.
Thanks to the team for providing a living environment that’s hard to find these days.
    A few tips:
    - it gets very hot in the trailers; not very eco-friendly, but if you have a portable AC unit, bring it. Otherwise, like us, as soon as the sun goes down, open the windows and use the fans. You’ll sleep very well.
Room for improvement: mosquito screens on the windows, please.
    Have a great vacation!

I’m posting this review here because the food it’s about is served at this campground.
Tonight, after a very hot day, a little bar is being set up where gourmet burgers are being served.
Right when we go to pay, they clearly tell us there’s a wait—45 to 50 minutes for a burger and fries. Our names are called, and we’re asked to give our names. It is what it is—we wait and wait… After waiting for over an hour, I decide to take a closer look and discover I’m one of many who think it’s taking far too long and have seen plenty of people who were behind us in line go ahead of us. Strange.
It turns out that you can simply hand the ticket with your number—the one you were given—back to the cook, and then you’re first in line (and everyone else comes even later)...
The idea of a numbered ticket system—which looks so nice hanging there—turns out not to be used at all...
By now, slightly frustrated and 1.5 hours later, the “deluxe” burgers are served, and a few euros are handed back without a word. Upon asking, it turns out they’re out of fries; I point out that telling us they’re out of fries only after a 1.5-hour wait is really not okay. It’s clear they have little understanding of this—a “sorry” is barely uttered…
In the end, I took just the burgers back to the family, where by then the 2-year-old was already getting quite worked up because it had gotten much later than expected and she was hungry. All hell broke loose when it turned out there were only burgers and the promised fries hadn’t materialized...

As for the burgers, nothing special—they’re more hype than substance and definitely not worth the long wait. Next time, I’ll just make my own burgers… they’ll taste better and save a lot of time, money, and frustration.

This is a 4-star campground, so you might wonder whether this Huttopia campground really deserves those 4 stars... During a fairly busy period, the shower/washing facilities were permanently closed. As a result, the restroom building that was open often lacked toilet paper or soap for washing your hands. There is no tap water in the immediate vicinity of your campsite. You have to go past the closed restroom building to get it. This also applies to the chemical toilet. The surroundings are beautiful, though.

First time Huttopia visitors and we were pleasantly surprised how good it was. Although we used it as a 2 night stopover on our travels we did not want to leave! The shepherds type huts are perfect for 2 adults and maybe 2 small children. The view is wonderful and the sunset position is perfect.

Great site and location next to the lake. Steven on reception is great and so helpful the only thing I would that is negative the grounds could do with a bit more up keep. Toilets and showers are Brillant and always clean.
