Visit Struthof, a former concentration camp

Visit the Natzweiler-Struthof concentration camp, located in the Vosges about 50 kilometers from Strasbourg, and experience an impressive place full of history. This memorial site is the only concentration camp that was built by Nazi Germany on French territory. The camp was founded in 1941 and was active until 1944. During your visit, you walk past the original barracks, watchtowers and the crematorium, while information panels tell the story of the camp and the prisoners. Its location high in the mountains makes the place extra poignant and quiet, drawing you naturally into history. Today it is an educational memorial site where visitors reflect on the events and the victims of the Second World War, which has a great impact.

Guests particularly appreciate the friendly and helpful staff, consistently described as warm and professional. The campsite enjoys a convenient location near Wasselonne, with a bus connection to Strasbourg within walking distance. The sanitary facilities are dated but are very well cleaned daily, which guests greatly value. The spacious, shaded pitches in a quiet, wooded environment provide a relaxing stay. A beautiful, well-maintained campground with very clean restroom facilities. The staff at the front desk were very friendly. The campsites are spacious. We stayed there with our trailer (2 people). Good starting point for sightseeing in Strasbourg (provided you have a car). Wasselonne is a nice little town near the campground. Highly recommended.

Klare Empfehlung.

We had such a relaxing time at this campground… We decided at the last minute to get away for a little while. When we arrived at the campground, we were greeted very warmly by the lady (say hi to Johnny) at the front desk. Since we’d already paid the bill, we were able to drive right in and pick out a spot. There was still plenty of choice at that point, and we quickly found a nice spot. The restrooms were in great shape, and the spacious campsites are just fine too. If you’re on time, you can order bread for the next morning, which is definitely a plus. In short, there were two friendly ladies at the front desk when we arrived, and after that, it’s up to you to make the most of it. We’d definitely go back, as we chose an area that’s great for biking—and that’s definitely a highlight. There’s also a bus stop right in front of the campground where you can take a round-trip bus to Strasbourg for 6 euros. In short, a great campground and definitely worth a return visit.

A quiet campground with very friendly staff. The sites are small, but they're nice. You can choose from sites with partial or full shade. The showers are nice and there are plenty of them.

The campground is high up in the Vosges, but it's beautiful. It has everything you need; it's clean, and you can order fresh baguettes, croissants, etc. Lots to do for kids. We really enjoyed it.
