Walk along the ramparts of Neuf-Brisach
Right next to the park lies Neuf-Brisach, a star-shaped fortress town built by Vauban on the orders of Louis XIV, which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Walk along the ramparts, wander through the geometric streets, and visit the Place d'Armes. In the Vauban Museum, you will learn how this military architecture worked. The town is small enough to cross on foot in a morning.

Taste a Riesling along the Alsace Wine Route
The Alsace Wine Route winds past vineyards and flower-filled villages, with stops like Eguisheim and Riquewihr. In Eguisheim, voted Favourite Village of the French, you can sample a glass of Riesling or Gewurztraminer straight from the winemaker. If you prefer two wheels, hop on a bike and ride the route at your own pace. Along the way you'll pass rows of grapevines as far as the eye can see, and before you know it you're halfway there and end up having a second glass after all.
Kayaking on the river Ill
Discover Alsace from the water and hop into a canoe or kayak on the river Ill. This calm river winds through a landscape of green banks, meadows, and picturesque villages, making it an ideal activity for both beginners and families. Along the way, you will mostly hear the gentle rippling of the water and the singing of birds, as you peacefully enjoy the nature around you. Thanks to the various rental points along the route, you don't need your own equipment and you can be on the water in no time.
Step into Colmar's Petite Venise
A visit to Colmar feels like walking through a postcard. In the atmospheric district of Petite Venise, colorful half-timbered houses are reflected in the narrow canals and flower boxes create a romantic ambiance. Then wander further through the historic center, past lively squares, boutiques, and cobbled streets. Settle down on a sunny terrace for a traditional tarte flambée and try a glass of local Riesling. The combination of history, gastronomy, and charm makes Colmar one of the most beautiful outings in Alsace.

Staff are often praised as friendly and helpful, while the swimming pool provides refreshment after a day of exploring. The sanitary facilities are clean but dated and sometimes limited in capacity, with inconsistent hot water supply that needs attention.

The campground has really fallen into disrepair. Some of the restrooms don't have toilet paper, one urinal was clogged, and the fuse blew in the washroom on Friday. The showers have no hot water and no lighting, so always bring a flashlight when you shower. The campsites consist of a mixture of soil and gravel.
Bottom line: 1960s-era standards.this is a translation, click here for the original

What a surprising find—this 2-star campground where nothing is missing.... A family-friendly and welcoming atmosphere, just the way we like it... A big thumbs-up to the "maintenance" team... There's a lot of work to do—the campground is large. Well done, and thank you.

I ended up here while passing through. Nice campground; you can choose your own tent site. There’s a separate area for cyclists with a free refrigerator and electricity.
There’s even a small pool to cool off in.
Good restroom facilities, hot showers, and a bread delivery service. Supermarket nearby. Very friendly staff at the front desk. No cash accepted—card payments only.
I’d love to come back.this is a translation, click here for the original

A great nature spot for a short trip with plenty of room to grow.
We spent four days at the Onlycamp Vauban campground in Neuf-Brisach and came away with mixed but overall positive impressions. The campground really stands out thanks to its unbeatable location right next to the historic fortress walls (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) and its wonderfully green, natural atmosphere.
🟢 What we liked: The location: Just a few minutes’ walk to the center of Neuf-Brisach. The sites: Very spacious, green, and shaded campsites with plenty of privacy. The pool: A beautifully landscaped outdoor pool that’s a great way to cool off after long excursions.
The service: The staff at the front desk were very friendly and helpful.
The surroundings: A perfect starting point for bike tours (EuroVelo 15) and trips to Colmar or across the German border.
🔴 What could be better: The restrooms: Unfortunately, these are quite outdated. In the evenings, the shower water was occasionally cold. The campsites: Many sites are quite uneven—without leveling chocks, your vehicle will end up tilted.
No digital amenities: There’s no Wi-Fi on the campground—which was fine for us, but it’s something to know before booking.
Conclusion: A wonderfully quiet and nature-filled spot for a long weekend in Alsace. If you’re not expecting luxury and are satisfied with basic restroom facilities, you’ll find good value for your money here in a great setting. We’d come back for a short trip!this is a translation, click here for the original
