The Alsace Wine Route winds past vineyards and flower-filled villages, with stops like Eguisheim and Riquewihr. If you prefer two wheels, hop on a bike and ride the route at your own pace. Along the way you'll pass rows of grapevines as far as the eye can see, and before you know it you're halfway there and end up having a second glass after all.

Along the way, you will mostly hear the gentle rippling of the water and the singing of birds, as you peacefully enjoy the nature around you. In the atmospheric district of Petite Venise, colorful half-timbered houses are reflected in the narrow canals and flower boxes create a romantic ambiance. Then wander further through the historic center, past lively squares, boutiques, and cobbled streets. Settle down on a sunny terrace for a traditional tarte flambée and try a glass of local Riesling. The combination of history, gastronomy, and charm makes Colmar one of the most beautiful outings in Alsace.
