To the chalk cliffs of Etretat
The famous white chalk cliffs of Etretat, located 48 km away than the campsite in France, are a wonder of nature. The erosion-formed cliffs have unique openings, known as Porte d'Amont, Porte d'Aval and Manneporte, and are now protected heritage sites. At low tide, the historic oyster beds from the 17th century and the "manhole" are visible. Walk along marked trails to discover local flora and fauna, including herring gulls, fulmars and peregrine falcons. These cliffs offer breathtaking views and a rich natural history. An ideal getaway for nature lovers!
Base de loisirs du lac de Caniel

Day of water sports
At the water sports club, located 900 meters from the glamping, both young and older children can learn to sail. They practice in an Optimist and learn about life underwater and on the waterfront. The campground is beautiful and the staff is very friendly; they helped us out on the first day with some plugs we didn’t have. There’s plenty of sun☀️ and not much shade—it’s not a big deal, but when it gets really hot, it can be unbearable. Occasionally, there’s a small tree near a site, and if you set up your tent or RV that way, you’ll be able to create some shade. The campground is close to the beach—a pebble beach with beautiful chalk cliffs. Saint-Vallery-en-Caux is the village where this beach is located. The campground has a swimming pool🏊🏻♀️; the water is a good temperature—not too cold. There’s always something fun to do at the campground every day, such as karaoke🎤, concerts🎶, stargazing🌠, aqua Zumba, and a few other fun activities. Wi-Fi is free at the restaurant/reception area. If you want Wi-Fi at your tent, you’ll have to pay for it—by the hour, by the day, or for a whole week at once. You can’t really rent bikes🚲; she gave a vague explanation about it and said she could only rent one per family. The restrooms🚽 themselves are usually clean, but the floor is always dirty—water mixed with mud, and sometimes there’s toilet paper on the floor. There’s no toilet seat, so it’s not comfortable. The toilet paper🧻 is often out, so just to be safe, I’d recommend bringing your own. The showers🚿 are clean and feel great. One side is for men and the other for women, all in the same room. The food at the restaurant is very tasty, especially if you like pizza 🍕. I really liked the chorizo pizza! The fries🍟 were a bit greasy, though—there was a lot of grease in the container. The chicken that came with it was also delicious. You can also get ice cream 🍨—there are lots of different flavors available. You can also order all kinds of drinks, including cocktails🍸. You can order sandwiches🥐🥖🍞 too—there’s a wide variety to choose from, ranging from baguettes🥖 to croissants🥐. A patio that smells wonderfully of lavender🪻.
I definitely think it’s a great campground if you’re staying for a longer period of time. We really enjoyed our stay!!☀️this is a translation, click here for the original

The campground looked pretty good at first glance.
The explanation at the reception desk was brief. No suggestions for nearby activities, places to visit, or anything else. That’s a shame.
The accommodations: Dishes weren’t cleaned, and part of the unit was damaged. The bathroom heater had to be removed and wasn’t even replaced. Weeds were growing through the boards of the deck. Just a single bench served as a resting area for eating. This is very subpar given the price of a campground like this.
During the checkout inspection, we were told that due to damage caused by other guests, we were given an older unit, but the price wasn’t adjusted at all.
The pool was decent and matched the photos. We just lost the whole point of an indoor pool because all the windows were open. Good ventilation is fine, but if it’s just going to be the same wind and temperature as outside, you might as well have an outdoor pool.
Service is the strong point—the front desk and bar staff were always attentive. We had an issue with a kitchen utensil, which was replaced immediately, and when the gas pressure fluctuated, someone came to check on it right away. It’s not all negative.
All in all, it’s a decent 3-star campground, but way too expensive for what it offers. I was expecting something minimalist, but I would have liked something at least well-maintained and put together. Here, it feels more like they’ve let things slide.
Still, it’s a nice region.this is a translation, click here for the original
Camping pas mal a l arrivé.
Explication a l acceuil Legé.
