Huttopia Oléron Les Chênes Verts

We spent 6 days here at the end of June to the start of July. It's a peaceful and natural campsite with friendly and helpful staff. There are many trees to hang your hammock from!

The site offers various free games and activities (balls and bats etc available), and it is right by the beach, so great for dog owners. Bike hire also available and while we didn't rent any, they look to be good quality.

Out of season the food offerings from the small bar were limited (just bread and pâté) and I expected more in late June, to be honest.

We had a nice large pitch, but some looked a bit small and could be tricky if you have a larger van like ours, so be sure to ask. There's a service area to drain your waste tank and chemical toilet, as well as a hose to fill up with fresh water.

Facilities were generally good - toilets always clean and toilets, showers, laundry and washing up are spots clearly marked. The showers weren't always hot in block 2 (I had to go through a few to find a decent one), and they only last 20 seconds on a button press, and you can't hold the button in. This is a bit annoying.

The campsite isn't too far to drive to the various towns on the island so is quite well located. Large supermarket less than 10 mins drive away.

All in all, a nice natural feeling campsite with everything you need and friendly staff.

The campground is right by the beach, which is a plus. All the extras, like the bakery and restaurant, were closed because it was early in the season. Even though it was half full, we were first offered really bad spots; it wasn’t until we asked three times if we could take a look ourselves that we got a spot that was somewhat flat—and those were all available anyway. We thought €40 per night for no amenities and limited, old—but clean—bathroom facilities was pretty pricey!

This a lovely campsite in a great location very close to the beach. Facilities were all clean and everything is well organised on site.

A very nice campground, right in the middle of the dunes or in the pine forest, quite close to nature, with campsites of varying sizes. The restrooms are perfectly fine and clean. But being close to nature also means there are quite a few insects, so be sure to bring plenty of insect repellent 🙂 There’s a snack bar, but you’ll have to check if and when it’s open during the off-season. However, it’s easy to get groceries by bike.

A beautiful campground in a wooded area with large, shaded sites. The restrooms show signs of wear and tear. However—and more importantly—they were very clean and were cleaned regularly. I would definitely stay at this campground again.
