Swimming and Canoeing on the Cèze
The river Cèze is located right next to the campsite and is a wonderful place to cool off on warm days. The clear water and natural beaches make it ideal for swimming, paddling, or playing in the shallow water. For a bit more adventure, you can rent a canoe or paddleboard and travel along the river. Along the way, you’ll enjoy green banks, quiet spots, and the relaxed pace of nature.

Discover the picturesque villages in the Gard
In the area, there are several charming southern French villages that are perfect for an afternoon stroll. For example, visit the medieval village of Aiguèze, which is perched high above the river and is known as one of the most beautiful villages in France. Montclus is also highly recommended, with its narrow streets and old stone houses. At local markets you can taste regional products such as honey, olive oil, and fresh cheeses.
Walk through the Natura-2000 in the Vallée de la Cèze
The Vallée de la Cèze is a beautiful region for nature lovers. From the campsite, you can head straight out for walks or bike rides through a landscape of forests, vineyards, and limestone gorges. In spring and summer, the scent of wild herbs and flowers fills the air everywhere. There are routes for every level: from gentle walks along the river to longer hikes through the rolling hinterland. Along the way, you'll come across small villages, viewpoints, and hidden swimming spots. Mountain bikers will also find great trails through the varied terrain here. The quiet roads and nature paths make it easy to explore the area at your own pace. Ideal for those who love being active in nature.
Visit the Pont du Gard and historic towns
One of the most famous sights in the region is the impressive Pont du Gard, a Roman aqueduct that is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This centuries-old structure is about an hour's drive away and is definitely worth a visit. Nearby is also the charming town of Uzès, with a beautiful historic center, lively squares, and a bustling market. Here you can experience true Southern French life with terraces, small shops, and local delicacies. The Grotte de la Salamandre is also a remarkable place to visit. In this enormous dripstone cave, you walk past impressive rock formations and underground halls. This way, you combine nature, history, and culture during your stay in this diverse region.

A lovely campground right on the Cèze.
Great sites and wonderful swimming in the river.
We came here because our French friends were staying here.
We were here a few years ago too, but back then it wasn’t a very nice campground.
Now there are new owners who are doing a much better job! Keep it up 😉
The restaurant at the campground is also wonderful!

Heerlijke camping zo aan de Ceze.
Goede plekken en heerlijk zwemmen in de rivier.
Wij kwamen hier omdat onze franse vrienden hier stonden.
Een paar jaar geleden waren wij hier ook toen was het geen leuke camping.
Nu zitten er nieuwe eigenaars in die het stukken better doen! Ga zo door 😉
Het restaurant op de camping is ook heerlijk!
Top camping! -

We rented a very comfortable cabin on stilts with a view of the river. We had a truly wonderful time there—the owners went out of their way to take care of us and were incredibly welcoming. The campsites are spacious and almost all shaded; the cuisine is varied and features high-quality ingredients; the activities are top-notch; the nights are cool even during a heat wave—a haven of peace where we recharged our batteries, and we’ll definitely be back next year.
Thank you, Fabien and Jennifer, for this wonderful stay. See you next year 🤗
