A beautiful location on the Dordogne, and Beaulieu is within easy walking distance. But for us, that didn’t make up for the campground itself: large, crowded, and with little privacy. The grounds felt open and chaotic, and we didn’t feel comfortable leaving our belongings behind. Plenty of amenities, a pool, and entertainment—great if that’s what you’re looking for—but we were mainly seeking peace, space, and a safe place for our tent and bikes. Not our kind of campground. The staff was very friendly, though.

We stayed for a week, and at first, the campground had assigned us a site that was too small for our tent (even though I had specifically selected “large tent”), so I went back to the front desk and they were able to switch us to a different site—and this one was really great!
The campground is right in Beaulieu itself, so you can walk around, and its proximity to the Dordogne River is really great!
The pools are very nice, although the wading pool could have been a few degrees warmer.
There were plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas around the pools, but there was a sudden gust of wind and several umbrellas blew away because the stands didn’t hold them securely.
The staff and the manager are helpful and friendly.
