This holiday park is beautifully situated on an island in the Loire with views of Saumur's castle and within walking distance of the charming town centre. Guests particularly appreciate the friendly staff, spacious shaded pitches and pleasant swimming pool with castle views. The sanitary facilities are regularly cleaned and the location provides an ideal base for cycling and walking tours along the Loire. Areas for improvement include the maintenance of some facilities, limited wifi connectivity and the absence of toilet seats in the sanitary blocks.

    VERY, VERY disappointed. The campground is well-located on an island in the middle of the Loire River. Close to downtown. Very shady sites. Very quiet in September. Worth visiting in July or August? But, unfortunately, the sites are too small, the ground is VERY dusty (very loose soil) with pigeon feathers everywhere, not much privacy, and sites … are a bit too close together. If you want water, you either have to pay extra to have a faucet (shared with neighbors) connected to your site, or walk all the way to the restroom facilities, which are often quite far away. And even there, finding a tap worthy of the name isn’t easy. What’s more, the restrooms aren’t clean at all and aren’t cleaned regularly. Really not worthy of a 4-star rating. We travel by RV in June and September and stay at about ten campgrounds a year; we’ve been to 2-star campgrounds (even municipal ones) that were much cleaner, better equipped, had pitches worthy of the name, and were much cheaper. A word of advice: give this place a pass—or stay only for a night or two.

    TRÈS TRÈS déçus. Camping bien situé sur une île au milieu de la Loire. Proche du centre ville. Emplacements très ombragés. Très calme en septembre. A voir en juillet - août ? Mais, malheureusement, emplacement trop petit, sol TRÈS poussiéreux ( terre très volatile) avec des plumes de pigeons partout, pas beaucoup d'intimité, un peu les uns chez les autres. Si vous voulez de l'eau, il faut soit payer un supplément pour avoir le robinet (partagé avec les voisins) vers votre emplacement, soit aller jusqu'aux blocs sanitaires souvent assez loin. Et là, trouver un robinet digne de ce nom n'est pas chose facile. De plus, les sanitaires ne sont pas propres du tout et pas nettoyés régulièrement. Vraiment pas digne d'un 4 étoiles. Nous voyageons en caravane en juin et septembre, des campings, nous en faisons une bonne dizaine dans l'année, nous avons été dans des 2 étoiles ( même municipaux) bien plus propres, mieux équipés avec des emplacements dignes de ce nom et bien moins chers. Un conseil , passez votre chemin où alors juste pour une nuit ou deux.

    A campground in a great location on the banks of the Loire, just a stone’s throw from downtown
    The view of the castle from the pool is breathtaking
    We were there in September, so we can’t comment on the activities
    We had a very well-designed VIP mobile home with great amenities and several terraces
    I recommend it
    Just a little … disappointed by thethe welcome, which was incredibly dismal
    Saumur is a beautiful town with a very diverse area featuring vineyards, walks along the Loire, hot-air balloon rides, a visit to the cavalry school, and its castle

    Nous y étions en septembre donc nous ne pouvons juger les animations
    Nous avions un mobil home VIP très bien conçu avec un bel équipement et plusieurs terrasses
    Je recommande
    Juste un peu déçue de l’accueil qui est d’une tristesse sans nom
    Saumur est une très belle ville avec son territoire très varié entre vignes, balade sur la Loire, vol en montgolfière, visite de l’école de cavalerie, son château

    Mini train available to tour through the town and up to the chateau.
