    It such a shame when campsites seem to favour static homes then Caravans and motorhomes. Pitches are very unkept, and just dotted about everywhere. I guess it’s 4 stars because of the pool, i have stayed on municipal sites with better facilities.

    A very, very clean and quiet campground with a great pool and the perfect water temperature. Just the right amount of shade. Don't miss the superb view and the nearby hiking trails.

    The cabins are clean and comfortable, except that when it’s hot, they turn into ovens even though they’re under the trees. The pool is decent and clean. However, the campground restaurant is one to avoid at all costs. We had booked breakfast, lunch, and dinner for a group of about thirty people. Nothing was planned to satisfy us. In fact, for our main courses, we only had rice, pasta, chicken breast served with a little cream and a few mushrooms that looked like they were fighting each other, or pasta with pesto and no protein—and this every day (lunch and dinner) from Saturday evening to Monday evening. For appetizers, it was all ready-to-serve (like grated carrots and tabbouleh that you find in trays at the supermarket) and no vegetables, no fruit, no cheese—same for the desserts, which were frozen. On top of that, we waited an hour or more between courses. Breakfast, on the other hand, was passable. The whole group was very disappointed. We finally said ENOUGH to this catering and switched to Plan B. Here’s a photo example.

    Les chalets sont propres et confortables sauf que lorsqu'il fait chaud, c'est une fournaise malgré qu'ils soient sous les arbres. La piscine est correcte et propre. Par contre, le restaurant du camping est à fuir absolument. Nous avions réservé pour un groupe d' une trentaine de personnes petit déjeuner, déjeuner et dîner. Rien n'a été prévu pour nous satisfaire. En fait, nous n'avons mangé en plat principal que du riz, des pâtes, du blanc de poulet servi avec un peu de crème et qlq champignons qui se battent en duel ou des pâtes au pesto et sans protéines et ceci tous les jours (midi et soir) du samedi soir au lundi soir. Pour les entrées c'était du tout prêt à servir (genre carottes râpées et taboulet que l'on trouvent en barquette dans les supermarchés) et pas de légumes, pas de fruit, pas de fromage, idem pour les desserts qui étaient des surgelés. De plus, on attendait 1 heure voire plus entre les plats. Par contre les petits déjeuner étaient passables. Tout le groupe était très déçu. On a finalement dit STOP à cette restauration et on est passé à un plan B. Voici un exemple en photo.

    Visited in June. The campground is very well located in the heart of the Loire Valley with a magnificent view of the Château de Saumur. The campground is quiet at this time of year, which is nice for relaxing. It’s well-shaded, which helps keep things cool when it gets hot. Fresh bread and croissants are a nice touch in the morning at the front desk. The town center is very close by, so you can walk there, especially since parking in the town center is paid. I enjoyed my stay and would love to come back!

    Visité en juin. Camping très bien situé au milieu de la Loire avec une vue magnifique sur le château de Saumur. Le camping est calme à cette période, ce qui est agréable pour se détendre. C'est bien arboré ce qui permet d'avoir un peu de fraîcheur quand il fait chaud. Le pain frais et les croissants sont un plus le matin à l'accueil. Le centre ville est tout près donc on peut y aller à pied, surtout qu'en ville les stationnements sont payants dans le centre. Content du séjour et j'aimerais bien y revenir !
