I'm giving it one star because you can't give it zero. In theory, it should be quiet by 10 p.m., and since this is a four-star campground, they should ensure that other campers’ rest is respected—not have a group of 12 young people in a bungalow drinking and shouting like madmen.

We visited just a week after out of season times. Beautiful area and lovely campsite. Would definitely recommend coming at this time or in Spring!

A toilet building in the middle of the campground, now a shadow of its former self. It was cleaned on Sunday when everything was closed; I was told it was broken. The cleaner said that in about a week, at the end of the season, I could request a specific spot near a toilet and water fountain upon arrival; I stayed for 5 nights. So after two nights, I had to lug a watering can over 400.
meters. I had to use the toilet in the RV. When you’re 74, that’s no easy feat—the campground was pretty full of seniors. It’s terrible that everything closes in September.

Some good points and some not-so-good ones! A friendly welcome and an ideal location on the banks of the Loire River, across from Saumur. A shaded campground—in short, everything was great on that front! However, for a mobile home rental in late August: two gas bottles that ran out after just three days, a door that was very difficult to close, a poor-quality bed frame with broken slats that couldn’t support heavier guests, restrooms that were only moderately well-maintained, the bar and restaurant offering a selection far inferior to that of 2025, closed in the afternoon, no more live music in the evening, and no meals served on the terrace—which is, after all, the campground’s main attraction with its view of the Château de Saumur and the Loire River! The staff are friendly, but the owner isn’t very business-minded… AND access to the Loire River is still difficult, requiring a complete detour around the campground—a 1,200-meter walk! UNACCEPTABLE! All other campsites have a gate with a code reserved for campers—why not this 4-star one? There are things that need to be improved to deserve four stars!!
