Summary created out of 212 reviews
The campsite is situated in a stunning location on Lac de Serre-Ponçon with breathtaking views of the lake and mountains. Guests appreciate the friendly and helpful staff, the excellent restaurant with lakeside terrace, and direct lake access via a private beach. Sanitary facilities are a key area for improvement: guests report that they are outdated, insufficient in number for the size of the campsite, and that cleaning is superficial with frequently empty soap and paper supplies.

A simply perfect stay!
We just had an unforgettable time at the Sunélia La Presqu’île campground, and I absolutely had to share how much we loved it!
The place is simply incredible, with that magnificent lake offering a peaceful and exotic setting from morning to night. You really feel like you’re on vacation the moment you unpack your bags.
A huge round of applause for the staff—they’re helpful, knowledgeable, and always attentive to our every need. You can really feel the impact of the new management: the campground has undergone many positive changes, and it’s truly a pleasure to stay there. Hats off to the duo Noémie & Coline! Every detail has been thought out for the comfort and enjoyment of guests.
As for dining, the restaurant is top-notch—we had a fantastic meal! The paddleboard and canoe rentals right on the campground are a real plus—super convenient and a great way to enjoy the lake with family or friends.
And what can we say about the activities on offer… pure joy! Tubing, hikes, night hikes, massages, a kids’ club, and the mascot Sunny, who’s there every day to put a smile on the little ones’ faces. There’s truly something for every taste and every age.
A campground I’d recommend without hesitation—we’ll definitely be back!this is a translation, click here for the original

I’ve been thinking long and hard about this review: What is the purpose of this review, and what am I basing this 1-star rating on?
The goal is to inform other travelers about what they might be in for—information I didn’t have before I booked this campground.
The 1-star rating is based on what we booked and what we got in return; let me explain.
We booked a campsite with restroom facilities for 7 days, which cost us just over €1,000—that quickly adds up to about €150 per day. It seems to me that if you book a bare campsite with a restroom building, at the very least the restroom building should be in good condition, right? Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case.
Upon arrival, you notice that the toilet seat is completely loose and crooked; in fact, there are brown splatters of feces on the underside of the seat and the inside of the toilet bowl. The toilet brush was completely filthy and discolored—a cheap plastic thing that costs less than €2 really should be replaced at your own discretion. The shower drain isn’t draining properly, and there’s no toilet paper holder. There’s no power outlet; there’s only one, and it’s very inconveniently located on the outside (why??). Next to this outlet is the light switch—it’s a timer that you can’t set and that has to be pressed every 15 minutes. If you want to take a relaxing shower, you’ll have to race through getting dressed, showering, and drying off within 15 minutes—or press the button on the outside with your bare butt.
When reporting the problems, you actually have to go back to the front desk three times to explain everything and say that the toilet seat still isn’t secure (it came loose again after just one day, by the way).
I’ll try to keep this shorter:
The staff is really very friendly; they genuinely do their best and are sincerely willing to take action, but ultimately, the very thing you’re actually booking for is seriously subpar. It’s a filthy, impractical cabin for far too much money.
The campground’s location is beautiful, but the general restroom facilities are in truly appalling condition (I think they should have been replaced back in 1990), and there’s no store on site.
Security patrols the grounds and actually confronts people—especially young folks—who are being noisy; they take their job seriously, which is good to see. The atmosphere is friendly—it’s truly a water sports campground and not an unpleasant place to be.
As for us, we won’t be coming back here, since the value for money is seriously out of whack. It’s just way too expensive for all the issues with the restrooms (which is exactly why you book a place in the first place…).
Tips and suggestions for the campground if they read this review:
-Set the timer to longer than 15 minutes; 15 minutes is really way too short
-Place the timer button inside the cabin in the shower area (or set it to longer than 15 minutes)
-Place the power plug for the tent on the outside of the cabin so the cord doesn’t get in the way of the doorway
-Install an outlet in the shower area
-Toilet paper holder
-Replace the extremely cheap toilet brush and toilet seat sooner; give your customers/guests the sense of quality they’re paying for
-there’s only one light in the shower area, and it’s hidden behind the partition, so you end up showering in the dark; either add another light somewhere or optimize the placement of the current one
-maybe an exterior door? Right now, if you go to the bathroom in the dark, everyone can see you sitting down and standing up—yes, even with the small section that’s already been covered up. It would be better to cover it up completely or install an exterior door that can be closed.this is a translation, click here for the original

Great location on the lake, but it’s not worth the price—the restrooms aren’t always clean, the shower water is scalding hot and can’t be adjusted, and the overall cleanliness of the campsites isn’t great. In short, there’s room for improvement. For a van site at €150 per night, I expected better. That said, the food was impeccable, and I must say that the campground is committed to ensuring total quiet for its guests starting at 11 p.m., with an effective and well-managed security service. That’s a real plus.

Worst camping site I’ve been to , booked an XL pitch because of the size of my caravan . The pitches are all located on hills and it makes it so much harder to get any type of vehicle on then and even harder trying to level then out .i have seen campervans with 25 cm blocks under the wheels to get them level ,all pitches are just gravel and dirt and the wash house is what you might expect if you not fussy but I’ve seen better in France for a lot less money .
To charge someone 100€ a night for a XL pitch is a rip off and what you see on there website and image videos has nothing to do with the reality ,
Very disappointing that we are leaving 2 days early -

We had an 8-person cottage (1 cottage for 6 people and 1 cottage for 2 people). The cottages were outdated and very cramped.
We did have the best view of the campground (the lake) and were right on the lake. The pool is very small; we didn’t swim in it. There were, however, a lot of wasps and flies (flies especially near the campground restaurant, wasps near our cottages).
Nice motorcycle routes and various hiking trails. The beds were very hard for us… and we started having back problems.this is a translation, click here for the original
