Picturesque villages in the area
Discover the charming villages of the Luberon, where nature, heritage, and Provençal art de vivre come together. Starting from Gordes, with its iconic rocky setting and historic castle, you can wander through narrow streets and lavender fields. Lourmarin welcomes you with colorful houses, art galleries, and an elegant Renaissance château, while Ansouis enchants with medieval charm and film history. Roussillon showcases its unique ochre quarries and panoramic views, and Ménerbes offers serene squares and vineyards for gourmets. Don’t miss the smaller gems like Saignon, Lacoste, and Saint-Saturnin-lès-Apt, each with its own unique story and breathtaking views. The Luberon is a postcard brought to life.

The Ochre Massif
Discover the ochre massif of the Luberon, a breathtaking landscape bursting with colors and history. Just a 10–15 minute drive from the campsite, you can admire the Colorado Provençal in Rustrel and the Ochre Trail in Roussillon, where impressive shades from yellow to orange grace the rocks. Learn all about ochre pigment at the Ochre Museum of Roussillon, or step into the shoes of an adventurer in the Mines de Bruoux in Gargas and experience the life of a miner. A perfect mix of nature, culture, and adventure awaits you. Ready to let your creativity and spirit of discovery shine?
The Luberon Regional Nature Park
The Luberon Regional Nature Park is an exceptional area that carefully preserves its authenticity and offers a unique perspective on Provence. Just 20 minutes from the campsite, this park unveils a world of sublime panoramas and rich cultural heritage. Since 1998, the park has been part of the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and the Global Geoparks Network, covering 155,000 hectares and spanning two departments with 77 municipalities. Hiking trails, sporting activities such as canoeing, climbing, and golf, as well as relaxing experiences like balloon flights, offer both active and contemplative visitors an unforgettable experience in this protected French landscape.
Fort de Buoux, Vallon de l’Aiguebrun & lavender
The Vallon de l’Aiguebrun is a small haven of wild, authentic nature where time seems to stand still. Take a walk along the river and navigate, with the family, along sometimes “risky” paths between imposing cliffs. Discover the remains of Fort de Buoux, which towers high above the valley. The open-air visit takes you straight back to the past and the view from the fort is among the wildest and most beautiful of the Luberon.
When in Provence... you of course cannot skip the lavender fields! Between late June and late July, the landscape transforms into a sea of purple lavender fields. Admire the fields at Plateau des Claparèdes, Plateau d’Albion or Plateau de Valensole and learn all about lavender at the Lavender Museum in Coustellet. Combine it with a visit to the Les Agnels distillery in Apt and experience the scent, color and local traditions up close.

We stayed for a week at this wonderful, quiet, intimate little campground—very well maintained and ideally located for visiting several small villages, many of which are listed among the “Most Beautiful Villages of France.”
We received a very warm welcome upon arrival and were shown to our little “cabin”—a small mobile home with a jacuzzi … on the patio, nestled among the trees and secluded from prying eyes. It was simply magical: squirrels 🐿️ in the trees, the sunrise filtering through the branches—which we could see from bed when we woke up…
Very well-equipped, clean, and well-organized.
The campground itself is very clean; the sites are large and well-shaded. Our son spent a night there during his motorcycle road trip, and it was perfect—the restrooms were clean.
The pool area is large enough for the campground and has plenty of lounge chairs.
The reception area has a small grocery section with basic supplies; bread and croissants 🥐 must be ordered the day before for the next day.
The only minor downside, as I mentioned when we left, was the food service 🍽️—the food was generally okay, but the service was pretty average: orders forgotten, long wait times, and a lack of enthusiasm…
We’re not picky, and we realize it was the end of the season and that fatigue must have set in, but it’s a shame for vacationers who prefer a slightly quieter time, especially since September is apparently “fully booked.”
The blind test activity went ahead but was cut short due to a storm—still great—and we had a wild 🎤 karaoke night 🔥.

My stay at Camping Le Luberon was as peaceful and relaxing as I’d hoped. The dining area is very cozy—you feel right at home there, and the food is excellent (the “White” night will always be my favorite). The evening entertainment was lively and classy—it was perfect! As for the facilities and cleanliness, I wasn’t disappointed. You can tell the … campground really goes out of its way to maintain them, and that’s very nice.
I’ll definitely be back next year!this is a translation, click here for the original

We stayed for a week with friends (ages 25–30) at Le Luberon campground.
The campground is ideally located in the hills above Apt—a quiet spot close to many tourist attractions. The staff was efficient and friendly. The bread and pastries delivered to our site were convenient and much appreciated.
We found the common areas clean and pleasant … (pathways, pool, restrooms, etc.).
Our rental met our expectations; the air conditioning was especially appreciated in this heat. However, there wasn’t enough storage space in the three-bed room. There were only two of us, and we can’t see how we could have accommodated a third person’s luggage. There was no storage space in the main room to help out.
The biggest downside of our stay was the entertainment. We knew the campground was meant to be quiet, but entertainment was still offered every evening. We participated in two of the events (a blind test and karaoke) and were particularly disappointed by the shoddy organization and, above all, the staff’s lack of enthusiasm. End-of-season fatigue? Boredom? No interaction with the participants, no encouragement, barely any applause. A real shame for such a young team—in our opinion, they didn’t live up to a 4-star campground’s standards.
No daytime activities for adults (especially water aerobics, which had actually been confirmed to us at the time of booking).
Finally, when we ran out of gas, we tried to call the emergency number, to no avail. Fortunately, it wasn’t a leak or a fire… the situation was resolved quickly once the front desk opened.this is a translation, click here for the original
