Visit Picturesque Villages

Visit the charming town of Sisteron, known for its impressive citadel, which is a Roman fort that towers above the city on a high, narrow rock and offers a beautiful view of the surroundings. The climb to the top is worth it, but there is also a small train that goes up. Briançon, one of the highest cities in Europe and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with its rich history and fortified citadel, is also a remarkable cultural highlight.

Visit local Provençal markets

Experience the lively markets in the area during your stay at Camping Domaine Les 2 Soleils. On Thursday morning, discover a large Provençal market full of local products in Laragne-Montéglin. Sisteron on Saturday morning and Veynes on Thursday morning also offer vibrant markets where you can leisurely stroll around and truly experience the atmosphere of the region. Go out and taste, experience, and enjoy everything these markets have to offer.

Take Action in the French Alps

Be amazed by the beautiful nature of the Alpes de Haute Provence: rugged rock formations, crystal blue lakes and rivers, purple lavender fields and impressive Alpine peaks. The Haut Alpes is therefore ideal for an active holiday in the mountains. Canyoning is possible in various locations, for example just after La Valette towards Faurie on the D1075, a challenging option, or at the Rabouis, a playful canyon for the whole family. Via ferrata enthusiasts will also find plenty to enjoy, with beautiful routes such as those at La Berche and La Motte du Caire. There are canyoning and via ferrata options with or without guidance; ask about them at the reception. Discover the Gorges de la Méouge, where you can enjoy swimming, sliding off the rocks, and jumping into the water. It's actually one big water playground.

Discover the Alps by bike or on foot

The Hautes-Alpes are a paradise for hiking enthusiasts, with 1,800 km of Grandes Randonnées, 5,000 km of Petites Randonnées, and numerous Tours de Pays. Sporty hikers can climb the Pic de Bure at over 2,700 meters or explore the wild plateau of Céüze. Cyclists will also find plenty to enjoy in the Southern Alps, with famous passes such as the Col du Noyer, Col de Chabre, and Col de Mens, as well as challenging climbs like the Col de Carabès, Col d’Espréaux, and Mont Colombis. Thanks to the mild climate, long tours are possible from April onwards, for example through the Gorges de la Méouge or towards Gap. Around the campsite, there are also more than 46 mountain bike routes, totaling over 1,800 km for all levels.

A wonderful place—it has everything you could want (peace and quiet, surrounded by nature, with the scent of the pine forest). We arrived for four nights but ended up staying two more. The price is very reasonable for a campervan. We’ll be back.

The campground is beautifully situated on a hill. The access road is a bit winding and narrow, but for those who stick with it, the reward is well worth it. Spacious sites, amazing views, clean restrooms

Camping ligt prachtig op een heuvel. Toegangsweg is wat bochtig en smal maar voor de volhouders is het resultaat top. Grote plaatsen, geweldig uitzicht, schoon sanitair

A very pleasant campsite, in a quiet location high above the village. The pitches are terraced, and we chose one with plenty of shade. Modern, clean sanitary facilities. Friendly welcome. Perfect stay. Thank you very much!

Camping très agréable, au calme, en hauteur par rapport au village. Les emplacements sont en terrasse, nous en avions choisi un très ombragé. Les sanitaires sont modernes et propres. Accueil sympathique. Séjour parfait. Merci !

We had the glamping cabin and it was very well equipped with everything we needed, with a breathtaking view. We brought our dog and he was very happy too. We spent 4 days in a family chalet. 2 adults and 3 children. The chalet was very clean and superbly located. We were alone, not overlooked, in a quiet area surrounded by forest, much to the children's delight. The view was magnificent. The covered terrace is large and practical. We had 1 or 2 minor problems, which were quickly dealt with by the staff. Top-notch. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. I recommend this campsite, ideally situated in a mountain forest with a magnificent view. The campsite is very well integrated into the forest, offering peace and quiet, intimate pitches and a variety of activities (swimming pool, children's games, snack bar, sports equipment, etc.). The snack bar is ideally located at the top of the campsite, with a terrace and dining room overlooking a magnificent view. The dishes and snacks on offer are excellent. The staff are also very friendly and helpful. Thank you very much for welcoming us to this campsite. We'll be back again.
