The location at the Biggesee is beautiful with walking and cycling opportunities in the immediate surroundings. Guests appreciate the peace and nature, although the campsite is clearly in transition with many cordoned-off areas and construction work. The sanitary facilities are a major point for improvement: guests complain about black mould in shower grouting, insufficient hot water during busy periods, and too little toilet capacity because one sanitary building is closed. Staff receive mixed reviews – some experience friendliness and helpfulness, others feel unwelcome or get insufficient response to complaints. There is hardly any entertainment or catering, which is disappointing for families with children.

    Perfect location right on the lake—it’s nice to take a walk down to the water in the evening and go on beautiful hikes.
    The small restroom building in the middle of the campground smells a bit like urine and has small stalls, but otherwise looks clean. The restrooms there aren’t separated by gender.
    The large restroom building is clean and … has really spacious toilet stalls. The washrooms and shower stalls also look good. I didn’t see any gender-neutral restrooms there.
    You should let the water from the faucets on the meadows run out for a while; otherwise, it tastes slightly like sage tea.
    The value for money at the tent meadow is excellent. However, one half of the tent meadow offers little privacy because all the pitches are arranged very openly, in contrast to sites that are a bit more natural or built into dune landscapes.

    Perfekte Lage direkt am See man kann abends gut mal ans Wasser laufen und schöne Wanderungen machen.
    Das kleine Toilettenhäuschen auf der Mitte des Platzes riecht etwas nach Urin und hat kleine Kabinen, sieht ansonsten aber sauber aus. Dort sind die Toiletten nicht nach Geschlechtern getrennt.
    Das große Sanitärhaus ist sauber und hat wirklich große Toiletten Kabinen. Waschräume und Duschkabinen sehen auch gut aus. Geschlechterneutrale Toiletten habe ich dort nicht gesehen.
    Das Wasser aus den Kränen an den Wiesen sollte man gut abfließen lassen, sonst schmeckt es leicht nach Salbeitee.
    Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist an der Zeltwiese top. Der Zeltwiese bietet jedoch auf der einen Hälfte wenig Privatsphäre da sämtliche Pazellen sehr offen arrangiert wurden im Gegensatz zu Plätzen die etwas naturbelassener / in Dünenlandschaften erbaut wurden.

    The chalets are fantastic, cozy, and well-equipped with all the amenities you need. The hospitality could use some improvement—the receptionist does what she’s supposed to, but a smile or a spontaneous greeting is rare. There’s a snack cart, but no restaurant—which is a real shame. For that, you’ll have to go to Attendorn, which, by the way, is a really charming Hanseatic town. Hiking and biking around the Biggesee is wonderful.

    De chaletjes zijn fantastisch, knus en goed uitgerust met alle gemakken voorzien. Aan gastvriendelijkheid mag gewerkt worden, de receptioniste doet wat ze moet doen, maar een glimlach of spontane begroeting is zeldzaam. Er staat een snackkar, maar een restaurant is er niet, dat is wel een gemis. Daarvoor moet je naar Attendorn, wat overigens een super leuk Hanzenstadje is. Wandelen en fietsen rond de Biggesee is heerlijk.
