Summary created out of 213 reviews

The location at the Biggesee is beautiful with walking and cycling opportunities in the immediate surroundings. Guests appreciate the peace and nature, although the campsite is clearly in transition with many cordoned-off areas and construction work. The sanitary facilities are a major point for improvement: guests complain about black mould in shower grouting, insufficient hot water during busy periods, and too little toilet capacity because one sanitary building is closed. Staff receive mixed reviews – some experience friendliness and helpfulness, others feel unwelcome or get insufficient response to complaints. There is hardly any entertainment or catering, which is disappointing for families with children.

We stayed at this campground with our RV during peak season and paid €50 per night. Given this price, we found the condition of the campground unacceptable.

Overall, the campground appears to be severely neglected and seems not to have been thoroughly maintained for quite some time. Parts of the site were closed off or unusable. The restroom facilities were also in very poor condition: due to what appeared to be significant drainage problems, parts of the restrooms were flooded, and the water didn’t drain properly in the showers. As a result, you were standing in used shower water while showering. There is mold on the ceilings.

The drain at the graywater disposal area also failed to take the water, causing a large puddle to form there. We could hear the bass from a party until around 5 a.m.

The staff was no longer on site by around 6:00 p.m. After that, it seemed as though no one was keeping track of what was happening on the campground. Some guests were very loud well into the night, with no apparent intervention.

In the entrance hall, a large-scale vacation home project is being advertised. At the same time, unfortunately, the impression is that hardly any investment is being made in the existing campground and its infrastructure.

For a nightly rate of €50 during peak season, we expect clean and functional restroom facilities, a usable waste disposal station, and adequate management of the campground. Unfortunately, these expectations were significantly unmet during our stay.

    - [ ] - The campsites are all very sloped. Because of the ramp wedge used—which had to be extended all the way—getting out of the trailer was incredibly high.
    - [ ] - The playground is quite nice, but it only has a climbing tower (whose base is far from finished) and a bouncy hill, which was also leaking. Despite reporting it at the front desk, it was not repaired.
    - [ ] - Furthermore, right next to the bouncy hill are old concrete foundations with steel bolts protruding from them, which could cause foot injuries.
    - [ ] - For the playground, it would be desirable, for example, to install a swing or a zip line (which would certainly be a great attraction given the region’s natural slope), and to spread the wood chips evenly under the climbing tower.
    - [ ] - Compliance with quiet hours was not enforced; campers sorted this out among themselves, but on both Fridays we spent there, it was noisy until around midnight.
    - [ ] - Barbecues: Furthermore, the campground’s terms of use state that only gas-powered grills may be used. Quite a few campers did not adhere to this rule either. Therefore, I would suggest simply removing this stipulation from the campground rules and allowing campers to choose their own type of grill. Especially since there is a communal grill area with a fire pit next to the playground.
    - [ ] - Trash at the swimming area: Even though it’s not directly on the campground’s property, the operators should still make it a priority to ensure that the overall condition of this area looks well-maintained and that there isn’t so much trash lying around.

Actually, the campground has a lot of potential. Unfortunately, it looks incredibly neglected. Both the campground itself and the restroom facilities are unkempt in many places. Given the size of the campground, there are two restroom buildings, but one appears to have been closed for a long time (small trees are already growing in front of the door), and the other was once nicely built, but it’s far from clean and well-maintained. The opening hours at the reception/store aren’t standard (by 8:30 a.m., most campers are up and would already like to have breakfast). As I said, it’s actually a campground with a lot of potential, precisely because it’s close to the swimming beach at Lake Bigge.

This Europarcs site definitely lacks a restaurant and maybe a bar. Unfortunately, there’s practically nothing to do in the park itself except play table tennis. It’s actually a real shame, because this is a wonderful little spot in nature. The chalet is equipped with everything you need.

I was really hesitant to book because of some of the reviews, but what a beautifully renovated campground! The restroom building is brand-new and fully equipped! There are cooking facilities, a laundromat, and—in addition to the regular restrooms—a separate shower area just for kids. We stayed in an 8-person cabin, which was very spacious and clean. It’s quiet there, and you’re just a short walk from the lake, where there’s a nice snack stand selling ice cream. If you’re looking for entertainment, you won’t find any here. Personally, I don’t mind that at all, since you can go for beautiful walks and bike rides in nature. You can rent SUPs and swim in the lake. There’s a playground with a bouncy castle and ping-pong. So there’s plenty to do and enjoy.
