Hackfort - 8 persons

I was really hesitant to book because of some of the reviews, but what a beautifully renovated campground! The restroom building is brand-new and fully equipped! There are cooking facilities, a laundromat, and—in addition to the regular restrooms—a separate shower area just for kids. We stayed in an 8-person cabin, which was very spacious and clean. It’s quiet there, and you’re just a short walk from the lake, where there’s a nice snack stand selling ice cream. If you’re looking for entertainment, you won’t find any here. Personally, I don’t mind that at all, since you can go for beautiful walks and bike rides in nature. You can rent SUPs and swim in the lake. There’s a playground with a bouncy castle and ping-pong. So there’s plenty to do and enjoy.

The restrooms were clean, unless other campers aren’t very careful and leave trash behind. (Apparently, not everyone has been raised properly.)
You can enjoy a good meal at the little stand in the campground parking lot.
You can also enjoy a good meal at the stand right by the lake.
The staff at the front desk were friendly. They were also very helpful when we arrived at the campground a bit later than planned and had to call them briefly to let them know.
There are also some beautiful spots to visit around the lake.
The lake isn’t too far of a walk from the campground.
We’ll definitely be going back again.

What a beautiful, natural setting!

It’s especially nice that the accommodations have air conditioning, which keeps things comfortably cool on hot days.

It’s a shame that there are no entertainment options for children and no restaurant in the vacation park.

One minor drawback is the somewhat unusual parking layout. While you park right next to a vacation home, it’s often next to a neighbor’s house rather than directly next to your own.

A mop and fly screens on the windows would be a useful addition.

We were a family of three staying at the resort and had a 4-person chalet; the cottage was fine for us, and everything was clean. We do have a few suggestions for improvement! For example, the bathroom is very small, and there’s hardly any place to put things.Otherwise, we had a wonderful week with great weather, so we were able to make the most of the beach, which is a 10-minute walk away. All the other attractions were also very easy to reach by car or bike! However, one week is definitely enough time to see everything!

We stayed in a cottage. A really nice cottage for the four of us—two kids, two adults.
It was great that there was air conditioning! It’s close to the Biggesee, which is super chill. Just make sure to pick up the key at the front desk. There’s a playground, and the kids (ages 7 and 10) had a great time playing with other kids. It’s a great location from which you can go on lots of outings or just do nothing and head down to the lake! You can rent SUPs there and grab a simple drink or snack.
