We were there in September 23 and were really pleasantly surprised. Large, very well-kept pitches, free water and electricity at every pitch. The campsite is very child and dog friendly. Top sanitary facilities. The site is run by a very lovely couple who put their heart and soul into it. We have never experienced anything like it on any other campsite. The highlight is, of course, the beautiful Kyll, which babbles through the campsite. Unfortunately, during the flood of the century one part of the campsite was completely destroyed, including the bridge over the Kyll and the municipal swimming pool. As a result, there is only a small, steep footpath that you can walk with the dogs. After a week, of course, it's totally boring to always walk the same route. Alternatively, you can only walk up the very narrow, steep driveway into the town. On foot, you realize that Kyllburg was built into the mountainside. A few words about the entrance, Coming in from the road to the left is almost impossible with motorhomes over 7 meters in length, you have to enter the town first to turn around. The driveway is around 2.50 wide in places, a 7.5 ton truck just about fits through. Many people go there and have their partner run ahead and tell them by cell phone whether the road is clear. In the hope that a new bridge will be built soon, we would love to come again. The campsite is worth it 👍 (Addendum 2026, finally the municipality and state seem to have managed to get a new one built this year. Unfortunately for the operators, it took long enough). Fishing 🎣: If you like fishing at the campsite, this is actually the right place for you. Only fly fishing is permitted, A daily fishing license costs €15 per day. The Kyll is managed by the municipality. As the site is heavily frequented by Dutch and Belgian fly fishermen, the stretch is totally overfished, the stretch is totally overfished. When we were there one week, there was a group of 5 people who had come just for the fishing. They were up and down the Kyll from 8 in the morning to 8 in the evening for 4 days. Plus the other 4 who were also at the spot, it was of course stressful for the fish. Somehow it reminded me of a fishing pond.... 😂 To make matters worse, that the stretch lies directly behind a "waterfall" in the middle of the city. This is nothing more than a weir that flows into a power station. The small remainder spills over the weir. Naturally, the stock of fish is therefore dependent on stocking.

We were there with 4 children 3,5,9 and 11 plus 2 dogs during the fall break. It was simply beautiful. Certainly the best vacation we have ever had. The setting on the campsite is magical. We have never felt as welcome as we did here. Very attentive and helpful groundsman. A big thank you to him!!! The operators Melani and Roy are simply very nice and warm. It's amazing what they have managed to get back on their feet despite all the blows of fate in recent years (Corona, flood) and have not given up. We are also very excited about the realization of their future plans. Our children also had a very nice time both on the course and in the surrounding area while hiking or exploring. The snack bar is a must. Simply a magical place. Thank you very much for the wonderful time with you. We will definitely be back.
