Camping Il Poggetto

We had booked a house for 2 weeks! 2 adults and 2 children; the rooms were fine, with private toilets and showers!

Cons:
- There isn't really any entertainment for the kids
- At the restaurant, they charge 10€ for cutlery or setting the table.
-The cottage door is hard to open and close.
-You’re required to wear a swim cap to swim, which isn’t mentioned anywhere on the website!
-There’s no sense of community or atmosphere at this campground, unlike at Spanish campgrounds.

It’s a fine campground for a one-night stay, but not for an entire vacation.

Our stay at this campsite was unfortunately overshadowed by a very disappointing experience with a member of the staff.

When we arrived, my family and I were shown to our mobile home by a staff member who introduced herself as the contact person for our area. She told us that if we had any questions or problems during our stay, we should contact her.

For three consecutive nights during our stay, the guests staying next to us—who were friends of this staff member—made a lot of noise late into the night. During the first two nights, they were outside talking loudly for hours, making it difficult to sleep. On the third night, it turned into a party with loud music until around 1:00 a.m.

When we politely asked them to lower the music and respect the campsite’s quiet hours (11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., as stated on the campsite), we discovered that our designated contact person was part of the group. Rather than ensuring the campsite rules were followed, she had spent all three evenings socializing with her friends while they disturbed nearby guests.

Instead of handling the situation professionally, she was heavily intoxicated, became angry, and told us that if we caused her problems, she would make sure we had problems as well. We understood this as a threat, which is completely unacceptable from a member of staff whose role is to look after guests and help resolve issues.

She also justified her behavior by saying that she deserved to relax because she had worked there for two years.

I understand that staff have free time, but when they are staying on the campsite and are responsible for guests in the area, I expect them to respect and uphold the campsite’s own rules—not ignore them, contribute to the disturbance, and intimidate guests who simply ask for the rules to be followed.

Because of this experience, I cannot recommend this campsite.

Several additional fees for guests traveling with dogs that aren’t listed on the website.
But the real downside is that once I politely pointed this out to the front desk staff, they wouldn’t just accept my feedback—instead, they started an argument in a very rude manner.
I always travel with my dog; paying the surcharge isn’t a problem, but it’s standard practice that when I mention my dog is with me, I should be given the additional pricing information listed here:

The interaction with the staff was truly beyond words.
Definitely not a place I’d return to.
