Beautifully located campground, with average amenities.
The campground is nestled against a hill. We stayed in a Premium Cottage, which are very nice, new, and fully equipped. One downside is that you’re close to your neighbors, so there’s little privacy. We were practically at the very top, which gave us a beautiful view of the sea and the town (few accommodations have that view). The downside is that you have to walk up and down the entire steep hill to get anywhere. There’s a shuttle that can take you up and down, but it takes a 4-hour siesta, so we couldn’t use it much. Not a major letdown, though. The mediocre facilities are more of a drawback. The pool is okay, but it could use a makeover; in hot weather, it’s too small for the number of people, and there aren’t enough lounge chairs and umbrellas. The mini-golf course is a shadow of its former self, and the soccer and table tennis areas are outside the campground, so it’s an even longer walk. Nobody uses those facilities. We didn’t use the beach shuttle because it ties you to a schedule. There are plenty of small beaches you can get to on your own. The surroundings are beautiful, with more than enough sights to see nearby (a perk of Tuscany).

Beautiful place, but super crowded... August... crazy!!!! Very warm welcome, two days at most, prices aren't exactly a bargain...

This vacation was a disappointment for us. We stayed at this campground for 10 days, and our campsite was at the top of the hill with our daughters, who are toddlers and preschoolers. Because of the location, we were only able to go to the playground on 1 out of the 10 days. The playground was all the way at the bottom of the hill. A shuttle train ran twice a day, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. It would have been appreciated if this service had simply run all day from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. This really limited what we could do during the day because of the pool and, of course, the toddler’s daytime naps. After all, you don’t walk up such steep hills every day with a child that age. Then there’s the so-called Green Key certification, which means the air conditioning barely cools anything due to sustainability requirements and shuts off when the door is open. The result: with two young children, it’s nearly impossible to keep the cottage cool, and therefore not even in the evening or at night. On top of that, we were surrounded by a sewer-like smell almost every day, and the drainage wasn’t working properly either. The cottage itself was nice and spacious. The surroundings are beautiful, but the campground was a disappointment. The restaurant lacked proper management regarding who cleared tables, took orders, and served drinks. We had to wait a very long time, while newer customers were served first and received their food and drinks sooner. After about 30 minutes, we had to raise our hands to ask if we could place an order as well. The food was okay, but could have been better. The pizza was very greasy, but the pasta was okay. The entertainment was okay, but due to the location of our cottage and the poor schedule of the little train, we weren’t able to take advantage of it. The guy leading the aqua jogging was great! He was very enthusiastic with the kids. Otherwise, it was mostly the same as at Capfun campgrounds. For a Sandaya campground, it really deserves more attention in terms of maintenance and upkeep. This really leaves a lot to be desired. The staff at the pool bar was also truly disappointing. The slides at the spray park weren’t working, and I noticed this had been a recurring problem. A real shame for our toddler. Because of these issues with the train ride and the campground’s location, we were mostly confined to the car or our own cottage, so we ended up having a very limited vacation.

Please provide handrails for children on the paths going up and down or on the steps. Arrows showing the way to the exit would also be very helpful—right now, we had to figure out what you meant by the arrows. Also, set up a play area at the top for the kids who are staying at the top of the hill—and there are plenty of them! Trim the mini-golf course! For a luxury campground, this should be better maintained. I’d also appreciate more flower beds for a luxury campground, which Sandaya normally is. Unfortunately, this was a huge disappointment for us, and we won’t be staying at Sandaya again. Especially since they didn’t handle our complaint about the air conditioning properly—they didn’t clearly explain the issue anywhere. In fact, out of the 10 days we were there, I slept on the couch under the “air conditioning” for about 6 of them.

A nice campground for families. We had booked a cabin. The campground is located on a steep hill. That gives it a nice atmosphere, but at the same time, it makes it difficult for children to play and meet other people. The facilities are okay. The welcome was particularly unfriendly. After a long drive, we told the receptionist we wanted to check in, to which she replied with a deep sigh. The restaurant was great, the ice cream parlor was great, the pool was okay—though it was crowded with (in my opinion) too much aqua yoga. All in all, it was fine for a week’s stay.

The chalet is fine in terms of size and cleanliness. However, the air conditioning isn’t powerful enough, so only the living room and part of the kitchen stay cool. The mattresses are also rock-hard, which meant we slept poorly the entire vacation. We didn’t have any problems with the slopes at the campground; this is something you know about in advance, so just keep it in mind.

There aren’t enough lounge chairs by the pool. So if you’re not standing by with your towel when it opens, you won’t be able to lie down for the rest of the day. You can’t sit down either, because there are no chairs. Inflatable mats, floats, and other items are allowed in the pool, which makes the middle pool (the “deep” one) extremely crowded. Part of the toddler area wasn’t working, so the slides couldn’t be used.

Some of the staff at the restaurant are a bit unfriendly. They don’t say a word when serving or when you try to make contact. The food itself is good and not expensive.

The surroundings are beautiful and close to the sea!

A nice campground in a beautiful setting

We camped there for two weeks in a tent, on a great site with plenty of shade. We had a premium spot, so it came with a fridge, which was really nice.

The pool was fun, but sometimes at the end of the day it looked so murky that we wondered if it was still clean.

All the staff are super friendly, which made it a really pleasant experience!
The mini-market has plenty of options, from the usual items to sandwiches in the morning. You can also pick up a snack platter there in the evening. The restaurant is also great, including for takeout.

I’m not giving it 5 stars because I felt the restrooms were only minimally cleaned. The staff really tries their best, but with so many guests using them, a quick cleaning once a day at 8 a.m. isn’t enough. Once, one of the restrooms was so filthy for several days that I went to the front desk; they cleaned it right away, which I really appreciated.

All in all, a very pleasant setting, a nice campground with plenty to do!
