Beach and sea on the Etruscan coast

The beaches of the Etruscan coast are a short distance from the campsite. Here, wide sandy beaches alternate with peaceful stretches of nature. In places like Vada and Marina di Bibbona, you can easily walk onto the beach for a swim in the sea or an afternoon in the sun. Water sports such as windsurfing and swimming are also very popular here. The coast is easy to navigate and easily accessible from the campsite.

Cycle along coast and hills

The surroundings are ideal for exploring by bike. From the campsite, you can ride towards the coast or inland, passing cypresses, olive groves, and small villages. Popular routes run, for example, from Cecina to Bolgheri. The landscape is varied and the roads are quiet, making it easy to spend a day out without a set plan.

Taste the Tuscan wine and gastronomy

In the surrounding area, there are various villages where you can truly experience the Tuscan atmosphere. In places such as Cecina, Rosignano Marittimo, and Bolgheri, you stroll through streets with small shops and terraces. Bolgheri is also known for its long cypress avenue and the vineyards in the area. Here, you can visit wineries and taste local products, such as wine and olive oil. Many of these places are just a short drive from the campsite. You'll drive through a landscape of hills and fields, where the pace naturally slows down. Here, it's less about ticking off highlights and more about driving around, stopping, and seeing where you end up.

Active in nature or a day out

Besides the beach and villages, there is plenty to do for those who want to be active. In the area you can hike through the Tuscan landscape or go horseback riding along nature trails. There are also opportunities for water sports such as windsurfing and swimming along the coast. For a day out, the Cavallino Matto amusement park is close by, with attractions and shows for different ages. You can also visit historical sites from the Etruscan era or go to a city like Pisa for a day trip. The combination of nature, coast, and culture makes it easy to alternate activities without having to travel long distances.

We stayed for almost a week at the Toscana Bella resort. I have to say it got off to a bad start: our bungalow was exposed to the sun, and it was incredibly hot both inside and out because there isn’t much vegetation in the bungalow area. We went to the front desk, and the ladies there were very kind; they switched our first room to another beautiful and very spacious one, which also had a large covered terrace. The facilities are brand-new and very clean; there’s a market where you can buy almost everything you need. The restaurant makes delicious pizza, though the other dishes are perhaps not quite as good. The pool is a bit small—they could use a larger one. The entertainment staff are very talented, though unfortunately the space isn’t very generous. To get to the beach, there’s a shuttle that leaves from the front desk and takes you close to the water; the staff are friendly and very punctual.
If you need to reserve a beach umbrella, I recommend skipping it on the first and last days, since check-in is theoretically after 5 p.m.—in practice, I suggest calling ahead to confirm. As for check-out, if possible, try to do it by 11 a.m. that way, you can enjoy the pool before leaving. The campground has brand-new facilities: restrooms, showers, a washing machine, a dryer, and plenty of barbecue grills. Overall, we were happy with our stay, and if you don’t like crowds, I highly recommend this campground. Have a great vacation!

Buone vacanze

So far, we've been very satisfied with this campground—nice sites with or without private bathrooms, and the beach is about a 700-meter walk, which was manageable even at 35 degrees. The pool at the campground was also nice while we were there, and we'd already gone on some fun bike rides.

Everything is great, and the central location makes it easy to get around. It's also just a 5-minute walk from the beach.

Tutto ottimo, e la posizione interna aiuta negli spostamenti. É comunque a 5 minuti a piedi dal mare
