One star, because unfortunately zero isn’t an option

The place would actually be nice. Too bad it only takes a few minutes to realize that hospitality is clearly considered optional here.

We arrived as a family with the idea of spending a few quiet days in nature. Instead, we found an environment where we felt constantly watched, unwelcome, and anything but made to feel at home. If you step off your campsite or do anything that clearly doesn’t fit within the extremely rigid internal protocol, a reprimand follows immediately. It’s like a campground with built-in surveillance—but we never asked for it.

For us, the management was the worst part of the experience: rudeness, arrogance, and a total lack of even the slightest friendliness one would expect from those working in tourism. We never felt like guests, but rather like customers to be kept under control and, ideally, made to spend money.

And speaking of spending: the bar prices are simply outrageous. The restaurant and the market seem designed for a very specific audience (Dutch octogenarians), while for an Italian family, the selection is rather dismal: supermarket items, frozen pizzas and pasta, and a market so small it looks more like an emergency pantry than a real guest service.

The overall impression was quite clear: here, the guest doesn’t seem to be someone to be made to feel at home, but rather someone from whom to extract as much as possible without too many questions.

And perhaps that’s exactly the point: a campground may have a beautiful location, well-maintained sites, and a pleasant setting, but if the people running it make you feel unwelcome, everything else takes a back seat.

We left with one certainty: we’ll never go back.

If you’re looking for a place where you’ll feel welcome, relaxed, and treated with courtesy, be sure to carefully consider your options. Because here, at least in our experience, the only thing truly “inclusive” was the bill.

The oldest of the sisters who run the campground really needs to retire. The campground is beautiful and spacious, with spotless restroom facilities—I’ve rarely seen them so clean. However, they’re extremely unfriendly toward children. The kids aren’t allowed to do anything at all, and the staff yell at them just for wandering around the campground. Not what you’d expect from Italians. There are signs with rules everywhere, but nowhere does it mention what time quiet hours are supposed to start.We also like quiet campgrounds, but a quick game of soccer at 8:30 p.m. should be allowed; even during the day, the kids were constantly being sent away and scolded. When we asked about this, the oldest sister started yelling too. We stayed in a glamping tent (it’s a separate company that only rents out the sites), and it’s definitely not the owners’ fault! All in all, it’s a child-unfriendly campground. The campground is well-maintained, but in the end, it turned out to be an unpleasant experience!

Pobyt na kempingu Gajole uważam za mega udany, cisza i spokój, bliskość natury, wiele fajnych miejsc do zobaczenia, które są niedaleko. W nocy niebo pełne gwiazd i dźwięk cykaczy i ptaków w lesie. Na kempingu można zjeść pizzę, napić się drinka. Ubikacje i sanitariaty zadbane. Jeśli wybierasz się z namiotem i wybierzesz miejsce z widokiem na Lago di Corlo potrzebne Ci będą twarde śledzie albo mocne śruby bo ziemia jest twarda. W okresie letnim kiedy wszędzie susza, z jeziora ubywa trochę wody, plaża kamienista, można pływać deską sup. Na kempingu są dostępne stoły pingpongowe, małe boisko do tenisa/badmintona, ogólnie można przyjemnie spędzić czas. Polecam z całego serca! ;)

We paid 60 euros for a car and two adults—in my opinion, that’s very expensive. I wouldn’t recommend the restaurant; the quality is very poor, but it’s very cheap. the staff could look a little happier—they all look like they hate everyone who walks in. There’s no toilet paper, and when you take a shower, the water is freezing cold. I just expect more for 60 euros a night when I pay just 50 euros by the sea in a big city and get toilet paper and a hot shower, and you have to pay extra for Wi-Fi,
