HU Birkelt Village is beautifully located in the heart of nature and offers an ideal base for hikes in the Mullerthal region. Guests appreciate the friendly staff, clean facilities, and extensive offerings for families with children, including Dutch-language entertainment and a renovated swimming pool. The restaurant serves delicious pizzas and the service is generally well organized. Many visitors are happy to return for the combination of nature, activities, and pleasant atmosphere.

    During our stay at Hu Birkelt, we experienced an unpleasant incident. Around 11:00 p.m., the power went out in our accommodation. After security had resolved the issue, the smoke detector went off around 1:00 a.m., and we noticed smoke. We immediately left the accommodation and tried repeatedly to reach the emergency numbers, unfortunately to no … avail. Eventually, we called 112, after which the fire department and police arrived on the scene.

    Although we were given permission to return, we no longer felt safe and drove home in the middle of the night. Afterward, we tried to explain the events via email, but we never received a response.

    We find both the lack of availability during this emergency and the lack of a response afterward very disappointing. The way this situation was handled has had a very negative impact on our experience with Hu Birkelt.

    For your safety, I would not go there. This time it ended well, but if something were to happen in the future, there would be no one to help you.

    Tijdens ons verblijf bij hu Birkelt hebben wij een vervelende incident meegemaakt. Rond 23.00 uur viel de stroom uit in onze accommodatie. Nadat de beveiliging dit had verholpen, ging rond 01.00 uur de rookmelder af en constateerden wij rookontwikkeling. We hebben de accommodatie direct verlaten en geprobeerd de noodnummers herhaaldelijk te bereiken, helaas zonder resultaat. Uiteindelijk hebben wij 112 gebeld, waarna brandweer en politie ter plaatse kwamen.

    Hoewel we toestemming kregen om terug te keren, voelden wij ons niet langer veilig en zijn we midden in de nacht naar huis gereden. Na afloop hebben wij per e-mail geprobeerd de gebeurtenissen toe te lichten, maar hierop hebben wij nooit meer een reactie ontvangen.

    Wij vinden zowel de onbereikbaarheid tijdens deze noodsituatie als het uitblijven van een reactie achteraf zeer teleurstellend. De manier waarop deze situatie is afgehandeld, heeft onze ervaring met hu Birkelt zeer negatief beïnvloed.

    Voor je veiligheid zal ik hier niet naar toe gaan. Dit keer liep het goed af, maar mocht er in de toekomst wat gebeuren. Is er niemand om je te helpen.

    The perfect base if you want to hike the Müllerthal trails. The staff is super friendly, very flexible when it comes to check-in, and the amenities are great. We weren’t able to try out the pool because we got back from our hike too late.

    Perfecte uitvalsbasis als je de Müllerthal trails wilt gaan wandelen. Het personeel is supervriendelijk, zeer flexibel wat check-in betreft en fijne voorzieningen. Het zwembad hebben we niet kunnen testen omdat we te laat terug waren van het wandelen.
