Summary created out of 118 reviews

Camping Fuussekaul is a large family park with excellent children's facilities, where tractors pick up kids daily for animation and activities. Staff are frequently praised for their friendliness and service, and the restaurant serves good pizzas and meals at reasonable prices. Guests appreciate the spacious pitches, central location in the Ardennes, and facilities including an indoor play area, playgrounds, and swimming pool. Points of attention include inadequate lighting at night (especially in tunnels and near sanitary facilities), inconsistent cleaning of sanitary buildings, cold showers with limited timer duration, and a swimming pool that's too small for peak season crowds.

The campground was definitely not what we’d hoped for or expected; on the website, it looks waaaay nicer than it actually is. Long waits to do the dishes or take a shower, only to end up with cold water because the water heater was empty. Often had to wait in line when you got out of bed in the morning and really had to go. High prices at the snack bar—an XXL frikandel for €10, a cocktail at the restaurant for €16. The kids had to cross a very busy road to get to the indoor playground or the mini-farm (which, by the way, is nicely set up with friendly people), so you couldn’t let them go alone because cars drive incredibly fast on that road. The pool was really very small for the size of the park. Because of that, you couldn’t really go for a proper swim—just standing in the water to cool off was about it. Also, the campground is a bit of a drive from civilization, so a car is absolutely a must. The kids had fun, but for us—definitely nooooooo way we’d go back! The facilities were all way too small for the size of the campground. We worked hard all year for this vacation, and we certainly didn’t come back feeling recharged. We tried to make the best of it by getting out and about as often as possible. The kids’ activities were fun, but they were also very crowded, so our kids had to do crafts while standing a few times. Early in the morning, there were so many screaming kids that I had to keep my own kids quiet in the tent or trailer until 9:00 a.m., while some were already screaming across the campground before 7:00 a.m. (I know this is one of those things where it’s all about luck—so many people, so many different experiences.) Now it’s back to another year of hard work and saving so that, hopefully, we can enjoy a wonderful three weeks next year!!!

We camped here in early July. There was a problem with the campsite, and they resolved it promptly and professionally. The reception staff was always very friendly.

The mini-golf is okay, but it’s not really great. For example, the first hole is missing. Some of the holes could use a little sprucing up.

Our son absolutely loved the pool and trampolines, as well as the indoor and outdoor playgrounds.

Receptie was altijd heel erg vriendelijk.

It was a nice campground, though there are a few downsides. I went to take a shower in the building where the restrooms are, but the showers have a 5-minute timer. There are also other showers nearby—5 in total—that don’t have a timer, but those showers are cold. You can turn on the hot water, but it only lasts for about 2 minutes. Other than that, it’s a nice campground I’d recommend it, but don’t stay too long. The entertainment is super fun—family tournaments for all ages. The pool is also fun, though it gets crowded; it has a mini slide and isn’t very big. There’s also a mini pool for little ones. There are hiking trails and mountain bike trails. Check out the website if you’re go there—download the app because you can order sandwiches through it, and they’ll be delivered between 8 and 9. On that website, you can also see the day’s entertainment schedule—handy to have. One downside: traffic on the campground drives really fast—it’s crazy, especially when it’s dry; there’s a lot of dust, and the tractors come to pick you up for activities—like crafts—drive pretty fast, so that’s it for the campground
