1). Very limited accessibility
The park has two large group accommodations. During our stay, two groups of young people were staying here who played loud music late into the night for three consecutive evenings. At 3:00 a.m., we called the emergency number, but it turned out to be disconnected. On Sundays and Mondays, there is absolutely no point of contact (limited availability five days a week from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.). In our opinion, there is absolutely no supervision of the park, which can make it feel unsafe. The park’s maintenance is also lacking; aside from the fact that the park is very outdated, there is dog and goose droppings in many places, preventing children from playing freely.

2). Gloomy atmosphere:
About 80% of the park is vacant. The occupied 20% consists mainly of permanent residents who have fenced off their lots. Dogs and fishing seem to take center stage. The park has no facilities, except for a seesaw and a swing. Even the climbing structures are locked. There was no shade near our accommodations, but the air conditioning worked perfectly.

3). Limited facilities:
The pool (the reason for our booking) turned out to be an old municipal pool directly adjacent to the park. From 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, the pool is reserved for seniors, after which it is open to park guests from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM (sometimes 6:00 PM). For serious swimmers, this means there’s no opportunity to swim laps before or after peak hours.

4). Customer (un)friendliness:
The park lacks atmosphere, a feeling exacerbated by the very unfriendly treatment from (one in particular) staff member. The tone of the interaction was very unpleasant. Upon arrival at the pool, I was emphatically told that I had to move my bike immediately. I then asked a question about payment for a certain product, to which I again received a defensive and very unfriendly response.
At the canoe rental, I asked if someone could help me due to postpartum symptoms. Help wasn’t available, let alone instructions. “Just walk to the shed yourself and drag the canoe into the water yourself.”
The afternoon before our departure, my boyfriend asked this same staff member if the gate could be opened so we could load most of our belongings into the car. He was told that this wasn’t possible, and that we’d be given time the next day from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. to pack everything up. He explained that we have a baby and a toddler, and that because of feeding and other needs, it would be helpful if we could start loading the car right away, after which we would park the car behind the barriers again. He was told that they would only open the barrier if we were to leave immediately. If we didn’t leave after loading up, she wouldn’t open the barrier for us. This was the last straw for us—there was no room for discussion—so we left a day earlier than planned.

My boyfriend and I have traveled all over the world, so we’re used to a lot. But this kind of treatment is completely unacceptable.
We got the impression that this park is being neglected, and that the focus is on modernizing Hunzedal.
Landal is tarnishing its good reputation with this, and we think that’s a shame (our previous experiences have been more than fine).
Make it a welcoming place with friendly, helpful staff, and the target audience—and likely the occupancy rates—will change along with it! 😊

Our room was right in the sun. We were given a children’s umbrella. The room was dirty and filthy. There were bodily fluids on the mirror and shower wall. A housekeeper wiped them off with his handkerchief... Underwear was lying under the bed. There was so much dust under the beds that you could write your name in it. There were bloodstains on the beds, walls, and the couch in the room. But they said they’d send a cleaner. He wiped the stains off the mirror with a handkerchief. He grabbed the vacuum cleaner to vacuum up to halfway across the bed. It was just as dirty and filthy as when he arrived. By the way, he was in our accommodation WITHOUT our permission. We filed a report at the service desk. Since the employee is about to retire anyway.
There was no restaurant. The snack bar only had fries and frikandel. That was all you could get there. There was a fence around the pool that children could only enter if accompanied by an adult.
We had booked a week but, out of sheer misery, rushed home right after the weekend.
NEVER, EVER again to this park.

In a nutshell, a place with a lot of potential but still loooooot of room for improvement.
We spent 14 days there during summer vacation.
With 4 adults, 6 children, and a dog. Children aged 5–13.
When we arrived, we were greeted very warmly at the front desk. When we got to our campsite, we were surprised because the sites were larger than we’d expected. But after our kids took their first tour of the grounds, we were quickly brought back down to earth. The playground is very small—a swing, a seesaw, a small playhouse, and a 1x1m sandbox filled not with sand but with leaves.
Then, when they saw that the water obstacles weren’t allowed to be used at all—just like the archery range, the climbing wall, the zip line, and the barrels—the disappointment was so great that we all thought, “This is going to be a long 14 days.”
But you make the best of it.
The good thing was that the go-karts, canoes, SUPs, and pedal boats were free. The outdoor pool was also nice, though unfortunately full of horseflies—but that’s not the campground’s fault. A fence around the toddler area would have been nice.
The location is very beautiful; there’s no everyday noise unless someone drives through the campground without permission again.
The indoor pool, which is only 15 minutes away and open to guests, is well worth the trip and really great.
What was absolutely unacceptable was the restroom building. It really reminded you of a spider hotel. In the evenings, you had to crouch down to get through the door so you wouldn’t get cobwebs in your face. Whether in the shower, the toilet, or at the sink, they were watching you everywhere—and there were more and more of them.
After I brought it up, they at least swept the cobwebs off the door, but they were back again the next day. The restrooms were only roughly cleaned; the stall walls weren’t cleaned at all, and you could “admire” the stains, pieces of toilet paper, and spider legs in the same spot for 14 days. On top of that, the toilets were installed crookedly. The toilet paper is very thin but available. Another thing I really didn’t like was that you can’t adjust the temperature in the showers, so I always went to the kids’ shower because it wasn’t as hot there.
I’m used to a higher standard from Landal. But as I learned, the campground had just been taken over.
To sum it up, I’d say you have to make a lot of compromises, but if you’re looking for peace and quiet, enjoy fishing, and are always out and about, I’d recommend the campground. Otherwise, you’re better off going somewhere else.
I’d love to come back to see if they’ve taken the criticism to heart and made improvements.
