We spontaneously spent a long weekend at the Bergumer Meer campsite over Whitsun and were initially a little skeptical due to some mixed Google reviews. However, this skepticism was not at all confirmed on site. We were traveling with a caravan and were therefore unable to directly assess the reviews of the rental accommodation. However, the accommodation all looked very well maintained and clean from the outside. In general, the whole site made a very tidy impression. Everything was clean, well-maintained and mowed - which is really important for a feeling of well-being, especially on camping vacations. Everything was well prepared on arrival, check-in was quick, friendly and uncomplicated and we were able to move into our pitch immediately. The pitches were big enough for caravans with awnings and an additional small tent. We were particularly pleasantly surprised by the wash houses: These were clean and tidy at all times of the day, with plenty of showers, toilets and individual washing facilities. One of the sanitary buildings even appeared to be brand new. There was also a well-maintained launderette with washing machines and dryers. Our children (12 years old) used the indoor swimming pool, the indoor playground and the HIT Arena and had a lot of fun there. Thanks to the very warm weather over Whitsun, we were also able to enjoy the two beaches and the water. Both beach areas have a beautiful sandy beach, so even smaller children can play there very well. Another big plus for us were the fishing opportunities right on the campsite. The fishing permits were easy to buy at reception and the price was absolutely fair. We particularly liked the various options right by the water: sometimes you could sit on open grassy areas, sometimes under shady trees - ideal on warm days. There were also: - a small camping market with everyday necessities - a beach restaurant and a snack bar with typical Dutch snacks, pizza and ice cream - Sports fields and table tennis tables - a practical campsite app with opening times, entertainment and important information We would particularly like to emphasize the friendliness of the staff. Whether at reception, the mini-market or the snack bar - we were treated in a friendly and helpful manner everywhere. German was spoken in some cases, otherwise communication was easy in English. We also liked the surroundings. Shopping facilities were within easy reach and the large Kringloop market "Lichtpuntloods" nearby is a great destination for anyone who likes flea markets or second-hand goods. There you will find a large area of very well-stocked goods and a particularly friendly atmosphere. Overall, we were really pleasantly surprised and would come back any time. We can definitely recommend Bergumer Meer to families looking for a child-friendly campsite by the water with good value for money.

We spent last weekend with three families 2× pitch and 1 x glamping tent) at camping Bergumermeer. How lucky we were with the weather. We did a lot of supping and boating with those warm temperatures. The toilet blocks were clean and tidy, the pitches fine and the glamping tent was also top! The only thing that didn't go well were the selfie to get into the pool. For this we went to the reception, but even after that there were problems.
