Buitengoed Ruysbos is located directly on the inland waterway called "de Wetering". At the glamping site, you can rent canoes for free to explore the beautiful surroundings from the water. Can't get enough of the water? Just a 5-minute drive away is the 330-hectare water recreation park called "de Gouden Ham," which boasts a 700m beach. You can rent boats, go fishing, and for the truly active ones, there is an obstacle mud run.

In the nearby village of Beneden-Leeuwen, you will find cozy shops and eateries. About 6 km away is Maasbommel, the smallest Hanseatic city in the Netherlands. In addition to its Burgundian atmosphere and delicious eateries, you can explore the history at the Tweestromenland Regional History Museum.

A little further, you will find Nijmegen, which has a vibrant history dating back to Roman times. Take a walk through the beautiful Kronenburg Park or visit the Stevens Church. On the Grote Markt, surrounded by historic buildings, you will find a variety of dining establishments and cozy cafes.

The Gardens of Appeltern

In the 1980s, Ben van Ooijen started a simple landscaping company that has now grown to an impressive 22 hectares with over 200 showcase gardens. Feast your eyes during a beautiful walk and gather plenty of inspiration. Children can play and explore to their heart's content on the discovery islands. Here, children's play desires are combined with nature, offering tree trunks to climb over, willow tunnels to run through, and the opportunity to learn all about butterflies and bees. There is also plenty for adults to enjoy. You can participate in one of the many workshops or seek advice from one of the specialists about designing your dream garden.
