First of all, I just want to say that I don't really understand all the bad reviews. After reading all that, I was actually a little nervous about heading to the campground. BUT, to put everyone’s fears to rest… It’s just a 3-star campground, not a 5-star one!
The restroom blocks and sanitary facilities are a bit outdated, but they’re still clean—which is the most important thing. The showers run for 15 minutes (for women), have hot water, and even a mom with two kids can manage to take a shower there. We had booked a spot on Fischinsel. The sites here are nice and spacious, and the fresh water isn’t green or anything like that, contrary to what was claimed in some reviews.
I’m deducting one star because there are very few restroom facilities, and riding an e-scooter is prohibited. I think adults should be allowed to use them so they can get to the facilities. Especially when you’re on Fischinsel, you have to walk quite a distance to the nearest restroom. It’s also a shame that there’s neither toilet paper nor soap in the restroom facilities. You are warned in advance that you should bring your own toilet paper, but you don’t always have it on hand if you need to use the restroom after visiting the outdoor pool, for example. Another downside—though this isn’t the campground’s fault—is that anglers tend to leave their fishing hooks scattered across the lawn. It’s not pleasant for bare feet.
P.S.: At a campground, you should be able to buy or borrow a CEE adapter at the supermarket.
