Holiday villa Boslodge 2 with sauna (enclosed garden) is an attractive holiday home for two people, set in a wooded environment.

The bright living room with a cosy seating area and television offers beautiful views of nature thanks to the large windows and sliding door. The open kitchen is fully equipped with, among other things, a dishwasher, induction hob, oven with microwave, refrigerator with freezer compartment and a Nespresso machine.

The villa has one bedroom with a comfortable double bed with box-spring mattresses. The en-suite bathroom is equipped with a rain shower, washbasin and toilet. Large windows provide plenty of natural light and a spacious feel.

Outside, you can enjoy a covered terrace with garden furniture, a private sauna and a fully enclosed garden. Thanks to the sturdy wooden fence, your dog can safely roam freely while you relax and look out over the green surroundings. Towels, bed linen and a kitchen package are included upon arrival.

Hofparken Wiltershaar is a peaceful, rural park set in beautiful natural surroundings near Winterswijk. Guests appreciate the modern accommodation with luxury facilities such as sauna and hot tub, the tranquillity, and the friendly, helpful staff. The location offers an ideal base for walking and cycling tours through the Achterhoek and is close to the German border. The park is still under development, meaning vegetation for privacy needs time to grow, and cleanliness and kitchen equipment regularly require improvement.

    Unfortunately, for various reasons, we had a very disappointing stay:

    - The cleaning was really subpar: cigarette butts from the previous guests on the patio, mold in the bathroom, toothpaste splatters on the wall and mirror, the toilet hadn’t been cleaned and smelled of urine, grease stains on the stovetop and on the wall, dirty dishes, … food scraps on the table, and sand inside the cottage itself.

    - We had booked a cottage in the woods, but were given a cottage on the edge of the woods with a view of the parking lot. Not an idyllic stay in the woods with a view of the meadows, as the website had promised. Because of this, we had no privacy, and we spent almost the entire vacation with the curtains closed.

    - The dishes in the kitchen were incomplete, filthy, and some glasses were even broken. On top of that, there was a used dish brush left for us to clean the already dirty dishes with.

    - The beds were sagging, the pillows were very poor quality, and the mattresses and comforters had stains.

    - For the first four days, we didn’t see any staff at the front desk, and the front desk couldn’t be reached by phone (so we couldn’t bring up any of these issues). The absence of staff and the digital check-in also give the park a very impersonal feel.

    The Hofparken Wiltershaar website promised a lot, but unfortunately didn’t deliver. For the (hefty) amount you pay for a stay at this park, you should be able to expect more.

    The only positive aspect for us was the park’s location: it’s quiet, and the area around Winterswijk has a lot to offer hikers and nature lovers.

    Helaas hebben wij om verschillende redenen een heel teleurstellend verblijf gehad:

    - Schoonmaak was echt ver ondermaats: sigarettenpeuken van de vorige gasten op het terras, schimmel in de badkamer, tandpastaspetters op de muur en spiegel, de toilet was niet schoongemaakt en stonk naar urine, vetvlekken op de kookplaat en op de muur, vies servies, etensresten op tafel, zand in het huisje zelf.

    - We hadden een boshuisje geboekt, maar kregen een huisje aan de bosrand met uitzicht over de parkeerplaats. Geen idyllisch verblijf in het bos met uitzicht over de weilanden zoals de website deed beloven. Hierdoor hadden we geen privacy, en hebben we bijna de hele vakantie met de gordijnen dicht gezeten.

    - Het servies in de keuken was incompleet, smerig en sommige glazen waren zelfs kapot. Daarnaast lag er een gebruikte afwasborstel voor ons om het al smerige servies mee schoon te maken.

    - De bedden waren doorgezakt, de kussens waren zeer slecht en de matrassen en dekbedden bevatten vlekken.

    - De eerste vier dagen hebben wij geen personeel bij de receptie gezien en de receptie was telefonisch niet bereikbaar (dus we konden al deze zaken niet aankaarten). Afwezigheid van personeel en een digitale incheck geeft het park ook nog eens een heel onpersoonlijke uitstraling.

    De website van Hofparken Wiltershaar deed veel beloven, maar maken het helaas niet waar. Voor het (ruime) bedrag dat je betaald voor een verblijf op dit park mag je meer verwachten.

    Het enige pluspunt was voor ons de locatie van het park zelf: rustig en de omgeving van Winterswijk heeft veel te bieden voor de wandelaar en natuurliefhebber.

    It was our first time there (09/26).
    Cleanliness & Issues: Unfortunately, it wasn’t clean in the details (the grout in the bathroom, baseboards, cooking utensils, and windows all had issues). In addition, mosquitoes were getting in through the bathroom exhaust vent. It’s hard to understand why you have to pay for a final cleaning while also … being expected to keep the place clean yourself. ​

    Location & Privacy: Very densely built-up area (“neighbor to neighbor”). Privacy looks different when you can’t help but hear everything the neighbors are doing. Our bungalow was right next to the driveway, so sleeping in was out of the question.

    ​Conclusion: Unfortunately, the value for money here is completely lacking. We wouldn’t go back.

    Wir waren das erste Mal da (09/26).
    Sauberkeit & Mängel: Leider nicht sauber im Detail (Fugen im Bad, Fußleisten, Kochutensilien und Fenster wiesen Mängel auf). Zudem drangen Mücken durch die Badabluft ein. Schwer nachvollziehbar, wenn man eine Endreinigung bezahlen muss und gleichzeitig angehalten ist, selbst sauber zu halten. ​

    Lage & Privatsphäre: Sehr dichte Bebauung ("Nachbar an Nachbar"). Privatsphäre sieht anders aus, wenn man ungewollt alles von den Nachbarn hört. Unser Bungalow lag direkt an der Einfahrt, weshalb an Ausschlafen nicht zu denken war.

    ​Fazit: Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis passt hier leider überhaupt nicht. Wir würden nicht wieder hinfahren.
