Summer Lodge - 4 persons

The reality and the pictures on the website don’t match at all. Everything is old. Our house was okay, but the outdoor area was really outdated. We arrived on Friday after 5:00 p.m. and spent a long time looking for our house because it doesn’t have a number anywhere. The sink drain in the bathroom was clogged. We had to unclog it ourselves the … next day with a plunger, since the maintenance person doesn’t come until Monday.
We were there for four days. You always need a car to go sightseeing, since there’s absolutely nothing for the kids to do on the property besides the pool (we also happened to have bad weather)! The playgrounds were old and only suitable for small children; the mini-golf course was closed; the entertainment program was canceled; the internet was poor; the mini-market was constantly closed, and you can’t buy anything there except chips and drinks. The nearest bakery is about 8 km away.
It’s not worth the money we paid. So absolutely not recommended! Read more Show less

A lovely campground with a swimming pool and a restaurant

We spent 10 days there with our two boys. We had a house right on the lake. Check-in and check-out were hassle-free. The house was designed for 6 people. Unfortunately, it was already too small for us. The grounds are poorly maintained. The road conditions on the property were unacceptable. The beach is unkempt, and the lake is dirty and full of … algae. Dog owners let their dogs swim right next to the children. The house wasn’t properly cleaned. The grill was dirty. The garden shed was full of trash. There were no proper instructions for the hot tub; we had to figure it out on our own and end up buying expensive chlorine and firewood. The resort and the activities aren’t open every day. The outdoor pool is freezing cold. The restaurant is way too expensive, and the portions are way too small for the price. For the little ones, there’s something to explore every day, and the park offers games and plenty more. The place is in the middle of nowhere. We were very dissatisfied for the price of €1,700. After 7 days, the gardener showed up in our yard “uninvited” and mowed the lawn. We do not recommend this place. Read more Show less

Unfortunately, very disappointing—accommodations with significant shortcomings....
We had been looking forward to a nice stay at the Rhederlaagse Meren Resort; the location was great, but we were unfortunately very disappointed with the accommodations.
We had a houseboat where even some basic things weren’t in order. The marine toilet was … very unpleasant, especially since there was no trash can inside the toilet. Note: A sign in the toilet states that paper, etc., should not be flushed but placed in the trash can. The funny thing is… there wasn’t a single trash can on the entire boat. Also, there was no water at the sink, so it was impossible to use it. It was only thanks to the very nice volunteer harbor master that we got water for flushing on day 2.
The note asking us to leave the accommodation as we found it was also a joke… it’s cleaner now…
The condition of the couch was particularly disappointing. It was extremely dirty and looked very unkempt overall. There was also a significant issue with the bed: The slatted frame was partially broken and missing entirely in one spot, making the bed practically unusable.
For the price (€200 per night) and the standards the resort claims to uphold, we would have expected significantly better cleanliness, upkeep, and functionality. Especially in a vacation rental, basic amenities like running water at the sink, a decent bed, and clean seating should be a given.
Overall, we were unfortunately very disappointed and cannot recommend this houseboat in the condition we found it.

The vacation rental is really great. It has everything you need. You can book the apartment through the Stähler family.

Very neglected campground, dirty restrooms, toilets simply disgusting. Tripping hazards on the way to the restrooms, sinks without hot water. Tall hedges—you have to crawl through them to get to the electricity.
Long-term campers who party all day with loud music.
A very, very unkempt campground—we were in the 500 area.
Very friendly … reception at the front desk.
The beach bar is gone—it’s been taken down and is sitting on the grounds. Read more Show less
