Summary created out of 212 reviews

De Pampel is a family campsite in the heart of the Veluwe, valued for its beautiful forested location and excellent facilities for children. Guests praise the enthusiastic animation team, the many playgrounds scattered across the site, and the swimming pool with slide. Staff are often experienced as friendly and helpful, and the pitches are spacious and varied (sun/shade). At the same time, there are significant complaints about the strict wristband policy, which many find intimidating and unfriendly. Sanitary facilities receive mixed reviews: some find them clean and well-maintained, others complain about inadequate cleaning, musty smells, and insufficient capacity. The pool water is considered too cold by many guests, and opening hours of the restaurant and shop are limited. The balance between a beautiful natural location and areas for improvement in hospitality and comfort defines the experience.

I really enjoyed the food! The dishes were flavorful, the portions were generous, and you could tell a lot of care went into them. Definitely worth a return visit. The staff was also very friendly.

A nice family campground with a few clear areas for improvement

We had a really nice vacation at Camping De Pampel. There are a few areas for improvement, but overall we look back on it with fond memories.
First, about the wristband system: to be honest, we don’t understand all the negative reviews about it. Of course, it takes some getting used to, but if you think about it carefully, it’s a very logical system. It ensures that only campground guests use the facilities. As far as we’re concerned, this is actually a plus.
We had a spacious campsite with private restroom facilities on a paved surface. We were very pleased with that. However, we did notice mold on the sealant edges, which really shouldn’t be allowed in private restroom facilities.
The biggest downside for us was that the campsites behind us didn’t have their own water spigot. As a result, neighbors—including children with water guns—regularly came onto our private area to get water. That really detracts from the feeling of having “private” restrooms.
Unfortunately, we found the food options very disappointing. The fries and snacks were without a doubt the worst we’ve ever had at a campground. The ice cream machine was also very inconsistent: sometimes it was fine, other times the ice cream was already almost melted when it came out. Fortunately, the food trucks more than made up for it, as we had some delicious meals there.
The pool is truly amazing. It was nearly 30 degrees, so the unheated water was actually wonderfully refreshing. In cooler weather, I can imagine it would be a shame that the pool isn’t heated.
Furthermore, we don’t recognize the negative reviews about strict wristband checks, grumpy owners, or golf carts driving too fast at all. We didn’t notice any of that during our stay.
The indoor playground was well-maintained and ideal for children. The play equipment on the campsites was also a big hit. The campground store is well-stocked and has an excellent selection, though longer opening hours would be welcome.
Finally, the public restrooms, showers, and dishwashing areas also deserve praise: they were clean, modern, and well-maintained.
All in all, we had a wonderful vacation. With a little more attention paid to the food and beverage offerings, the water stations at the campsites, and the maintenance of the private restrooms, this campground might almost be worth a second visit—but for now, it was a great vacation, though not one we’d repeat.

The campground itself is nice and very clean. Spacious sites and plenty of choice in the little store.

However, the 6-amp power supply isn’t enough, and you’ll have to book extra power anyway because even the simplest camping appliance keeps tripping the circuit breaker. If you mention this, they get angry right away and accuse you of not having purchased the 10-ampere plan, and if you point out that 6 amps is more than enough at all other campgrounds, they ignore you—so unfortunately, there’s no room for discussion. They have a wristband policy, and if you’re a visitor who’s been at the campground for less than 5 minutes, they’ll already call you out for not wearing a wristband yet and tell you you’re not allowed to use the pool, etc. It could all have been a bit friendlier.

It wasn’t a Senseo (as I pointed out several times), and a 700-watt kettle got unplugged just as quickly!

We had a wonderful time at Camping de Pampel in Hoenderloo and always love coming here. We felt welcome from the moment we arrived. The staff is incredibly friendly, helpful, and customer-oriented. If there’s a problem or you have a question, it’s resolved quickly and efficiently. That really gives you a pleasant and carefree feeling during your vacation.

The pools are beautiful and well-maintained. Our daughters had hours of fun there and actually wanted to go every day. There’s plenty for kids to do, so they weren’t bored for a single moment.

What we might consider the biggest plus is just how family-friendly the campground is. You can tell everywhere that they’ve really thought about families with children. There are fun play areas, plenty of activities, and a cozy, safe atmosphere. Both of our daughters had an absolute blast and are still talking about all the fun moments they experienced here.

The campground itself is also well-maintained and exudes a sense of peace and warmth. You can tell that a lot of attention is paid to maintenance and to the guests.

We look back on a wonderful vacation and can wholeheartedly recommend Camping de Pampel to anyone looking for a pleasant, cozy, and child-friendly campground. For families with children, this is truly a fantastic place. We’ll definitely be back!

A really nice campground with fun, enthusiastic entertainment. It’s also nice and quiet, thankfully. There are, however, many areas for improvement: the store is barely open, the reception desk and snack bar close too early, and you can’t get a drink in the evening; the restroom facilities close after 11:30 p.m. and there aren’t enough of them for the number of users. A 5-minute shower is way too short! It’s also very dark there! So far, it’s been decent, but the campground is nowhere near full.

5 minuten douchen is erg kort!

Every year, it feels like coming home. Clean restrooms. Fantastic swimming pools—both indoor and outdoor—and a toddler pool. Wonderful biking opportunities in the woods and, of course, the Hoge Veluwe National Park right around the corner. An excellent snack service and a wonderful restaurant with affordable prices. A wonderful place to spend your vacation, in the woods, yet close to everything. Friendly staff who are always willing to help.
