Park information

Lauwersmeer

What you should know about the park

Glamping Lauwersmeer is located near Vierhuizen, on the edge of Lauwersmeer National Park in the north of Groningen. The park consists of safari tents that are ready upon arrival, each with beds, kitchen, bathroom and a veranda. You can go swimming in the surrounding area: at Lauwersoog you will find beaches on the Wadden Sea coast and at lakes nearby. On the park itself there is a playground with an observation tower and rope swings, and the grounds are car-free, which makes it nice for children. For food and drinks there is a take-away, a minimarket and a bread roll service for breakfast. Lauwersmeer National Park is a recognized Dark Sky Park, which means you can stargaze there in the evening from special observation towers. During the day you can walk or cycle through the park, or take a ferry to car-free Schiermonnikoog. The city of Groningen is about 50 km away and offers markets, terraces and the 97-meter-high Martinitoren. Spotting seals in the area is also an option.
