Day at Maastricht
Maastricht, where cozy terraces and chic restaurants meet alongside art, caves and ancient city walls. This city is like a happy dance of the present with the past, a melting pot of cultures and delicious (burgundian) flavors. It is a popular destination for a day of shopping or immersing yourself in culture. Be enchanted by the depths of Fort St. Pieter, the ENCI Quarry, or the mysterious Kazematten. Discover art in all its splendor at the famous Bonnefantenmuseum, the artistic jewel of Limburg. And for a splash of entertainment, attend a performance at the vibrant Theater aan het Vrijthof. We had rented a chalet for a long weekend with four people. Positive: the very friendly welcome from the staff, who were also very helpful with questions, e.g. about bike tours. As we usually travel by camper, we also had a look at the camping area. The sanitary building was clean and modern. About the chalet: There were lots of cupboards in the master bedroom for storage. The covered terrace, which you can also use when it rains, with plenty of seating furniture, is nice. If you arrive with more than one car, it can be parked in front of the site free of charge. Unfortunately, that was the only positive thing. Negative: the chalet was really sparsely furnished in terms of crockery. We had to wash up every day because we wouldn't have had enough dishes for a second day. The chalet is very, very quiet. Great as a family with small children as you can always hear them. Very unsuitable as a couple of friends, you can even hear the whispering of the others. Our caravan is less noisy. The chalets are very close together, if a car is parked on the pitch, it is very tight to get past with bicycles, these are best placed on the terrace (carry up three steps) and must be locked. This was advised because there have been many bicycle thefts. The sofa already had some stains from previous guests and the chairs in the dining area looked like they were from a canteen. The shop/snack bar was okay, but here too the range of everyday food could be expanded. And a pizza salami for 16€ is almost outrageous. Bread rolls can be ordered the evening before, but here too the selection could be larger. On the subject of the campsite: not really a recommendation, even the comfort pitches are mini, you're almost sitting at the breakfast table with your neighbor. Fine for a weekend if you're out and about during the day anyway, but not recommended for a longer stay at this price.

Not very special. We unfortunately had a cottage without a nice view, there are plenty of those too. Looked against another chalet. Was quite unfortunate. Beautiful area of course!

We regularly go away for a long weekend in our own country and then south Limburg is a nice destination, which really gives you the feeling that you are abroad. The hills you literally encounter here in the park. In terraces are all cottages placed. So the front row in each street has a view into the valley, the opposite cottages do not. Moreover, the cottages are close together, so you look the neighbors right in the face. Especially when fully occupied, you have little privacy that way. A bit of the camping feeling and that is the other part of the park: pitches for campers. The cottages themselves are not large, 4 beds / persons is quite accommodating. The finish is fine, no old-fashioned furniture, but modern and fresh. From the park you can easily pick up walking or cycling routes, so the car can stay. In low season we had a great time here.

Very tasty meal at Restaurant Jantje! The steak (medium) was perfectly prepared, with a really good mushroom sauce, crispy chips with mayo and a fresh salad - everything tasted great. We were here yesterday and came back today because we liked it so much. Highly recommended, we'd love to come back!
