We have been visiting Huttopia campsites for eight years, first Indigo, with the greatest of pleasure, and sometimes a little less. The very first one set the tone; the central square played a hugely important role for everyone. The catering facility was a gypsy caravan and when it closed, the square remained lively where, in bad weather, you could stay in the always open communal log cabin/tent and spell games. And if you brought your own food and drink that was fine. And that is exactly what I miss at Huttopia Meinweg. It is a campsite like any other and happens to be a Huttopia. The fact that there are rental accommodations first and only then a tent/caravan area is the reason for that, in my opinion. The roads: do something about that! Okay, it's dry and dusty. But all those potholes, sticking up bricks are life-threatening. The campground is beautiful because of the nice spots under the trees, the plumbing is des Huttopias; either modern or one of those octagonal buildings. The extras for "explorers" have become less and less although the Meinweg can't do anything about it of course. But I can't find the typical Huttopia vibe here.

What I did have to get used to is that we had to share 3 showers and 3 toilets with a lot of people; and that in a full Pentecost weekend ... on the other hand, there was regular cleaning but because there is no red/green slider on the toilet, a visit to the toilet was accompanied by snatching at the door. Toilet paper ran out in the afternoon. On hot Whit Monday there was no cleaning at all; we left at 1200.
