Yes, I have somewhat mixed feelings about this campground. The reviews are pretty good, but that’s mainly because of the friendly, welcoming owner, the campground’s child-friendliness, and the Fien and Teun activities.

We chose this campground for two nights (arrival Friday, departure Sunday) because we wanted to take our granddaughter to … the new amusement park, De Tovertuin, in Hoogerheide. The campground is also a Fien and Teun campground, so it was fun for our granddaughter to visit here. On Saturday morning, we rode our bikes with her to De Tovertuin. We were back around 2:00 p.m., because that afternoon Woezel and Pip, as well as Fien and Teun, were scheduled to visit the campground. And indeed, what a treat this was for all the children at the campground. In the evening, there was also a waffle/pancake cart where, for a fixed price, you could eat as many waffles and pancakes as you wanted. We didn’t take advantage of that. No exaggeration—the owner had everything well organized. For the kids, there were go-karts they could use. There was also a bouncy house. All in all, a children’s paradise.

Now, about the campground itself:
For us, this will be the only time we’ve ever been here. Our site was right next to the forest, and we were parked on dry, loose black forest soil. It was very dusty and unpleasant. Okay, it was, of course, a hot summer, and the grassy areas didn’t look great either, but this spot was really unpleasant.
The restrooms were old and dirty. We haven’t experienced anything like this very often before. Good thing we only stayed for two nights. The chicken coop and the goat farm also caused quite a bit of odor nuisance. It was particularly noticeable near the restroom building.

A nice campground, beautifully situated next to a forest and within walking distance of the dunes. The campground has many amenities and is kept very clean. There are also options for permanent sites.

A really nice and cozy spot with plenty of great bike routes! There are two great thrift stores in Woensdrecht and Putte, and just 2 km away on the same road, there’s a cozy café with a patio and very reasonable prices. The butcher shop in Huijbergen itself is also worth a visit. 🙂

The owner is very friendly and helpful, and the restrooms … play nice music from a Flemish radio station.
That said, I do have two suggestions for improvement:
The cottages are cozy and inviting but a tad on the pricey side; there’s no nice discount for longer stays. Maybe offering a discount could be a good way to fill the cottages even outside the high season and during the winter months? I stayed here from September 1 to 5, and during this time it was wonderfully peaceful; however, I can imagine that this might be less so during the high season because the cottages (wine barrels and Finnish kotas) are very close together—which is nice if you have friendly neighbors, of course, but you have to be lucky with that. 🙂

Camping with a twist!
Everything you need—even for just one night, no problem! The campground is well-designed, ideal for kids, and dogs are welcome, too. There are lots of animals to see, a farm-like atmosphere perfect for nature lovers, and the scent of the outdoors included.
There’s a communal kitchen with a stove, refrigerator, and … dishwasher—highly recommended for cyclists.
Adjacent to a large pine forest. There’s something for everyone; we really relaxed and had a great time. Read more Show less

A cozy SVR campground with some sites on small fields and others in the woods.
The sites in the woods are very sandy but offer nice privacy and plenty of shade. Restrooms are located in various small buildings; they’re simple but clean. Plenty of play areas for children. Great cycling in the surrounding area.
