Safarilodge deluxe - 5 persons

We stayed here for 19 nights with our three children, ages 3, 6, and 9, and look back on a wonderful vacation. For families with children, this is truly a fantastic campground. I give Krieghuusbelten a 9/10.

We were on site 28A. It’s located on a small hill, which makes the site look a bit shorter than some of the others. Still, we had more than enough space for our trailer, awning, canopy, and two small side tents. There’s always a spot of shade to be found, and the site is nice and quiet, about 75 meters from the restroom building. Personally, next time we’d prefer to be a bit closer to a busier playground, but that’s purely a matter of preference.

The restrooms really deserve a compliment: modern, spacious, and exceptionally clean during our stay. Family showers and baby facilities are available. We did find it a shame, however, that you need a separate payment card to shower and wash dishes.

There’s truly something for kids to do everywhere. Playgrounds are scattered throughout the campground, and our kids weren’t bored for a single moment. The entertainment team organizes fun activities, and there are so many children that making friends comes naturally. If you’re looking for peace and quiet without children playing, this probably isn’t the right campground for you. For families, however, it’s ideal.

The pool is beautiful, and the retractable roof is cleverly adapted to the weather. On hot days, it does get quite crowded, and the toddler pool is on the small side. On the other hand, the slide is both fun and safe. The swimming and fishing lake, complete with a small beach and playground equipment, is also a major plus.

The campground is well-maintained, green, low-traffic, and clean throughout. The campground store is great, with fresh rolls available all day and prices only slightly higher than at the supermarket. We felt the restaurant was the only real area for improvement. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, but the quality and variety of the food could be better.

What perhaps stood out to us the most was the staff. We’ve rarely encountered such an enthusiastic team. Almost all of the staff are young, but every single one is friendly, helpful, and dedicated. We truly didn’t see a single person walking around looking disinterested or fiddling with their phone.

The surrounding area also offers plenty of options for day trips, such as De Flierefluiter, charming towns, and various water activities.

We would definitely come back. For families with children, Krieghuusbelten is, in our opinion, one of the best campgrounds in the Netherlands.

With a kid-friendly pool.

This was our second time camping by the water—it was wonderful. It’s ideal, with our own shower and toilet. What a treat! 😍

We went camping with our grandchildren for a few days. We all loved it, and we’d love to come back! Beautiful restroom facilities, a great pool, well-maintained campsites, and fun playground equipment. The entertainment was also a lot of fun, and even the sandwiches from the store were really tasty… We could do without the music in the restroom facilities, though. We give it a 10!

We had a wonderful vacation. There was something for the kids—biking, swimming, stand-up paddleboarding, playing, climbing, the play forest, and entertainment—yet there was still plenty of peace and quiet at the campsites. The restrooms were very clean. The pool is actually heated—it was wonderful. We’ll definitely be back.
