Summary created out of 188 reviews

EuroParcs Parc du Soleil is a small-scale holiday park with an excellent location close to the dunes and within cycling distance of the beach. Guests particularly appreciate the location, the friendly staff and the heated swimming pool, although the early closing time (4:45 PM) is frequently mentioned as a drawback. The restaurant is praised for its stylish interior and good cuisine, with reasonable prices. Unfortunately, cleanliness is a recurring concern: many guests report that chalets are not thoroughly cleaned, with dust, stains and leftovers from previous visitors.

Unfortunately, you either have to bring EVERYTHING from home or book everything on-site. NO bed linens, no towels or washcloths, no soap or shower gel, no trash bags, no toilet paper, hardly any decent dishes, and no chair cushions for outside. Plus, everything is pretty run-down: mismatched furniture and dirt in many corners. Keep this in mind when booking.

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this accommodation at all. We paid just under €1,000 for 4 nights with 3 children. We found the lodge to be unbelievably dirty. There was a thick layer of dust everywhere and dust bunnies under the beds. There were clothes and trash left behind by the previous guests in the closets, and uninvited guests—ants—that were crawling all over the living room and throughout the entire property. After we complained immediately, the cleaning crew was sent over. However, even after we showed them the appalling conditions, they didn’t really see fit to clean it up. The houses are incredibly small and have thin walls. Even a normal conversation can be heard throughout the entire house through the walls. The mattresses are a real nightmare—you can feel every single “spring” in your back—and again, nothing was done about it. The loft bed is suitable for a maximum of one person to sleep on the bottom level, as there isn’t even a support structure up top. In this “children’s room,” you can barely turn around, and it’s more like a storage closet. We were also disappointed by the opening hours of the swimming pool, the playroom (which you can only enter when the restaurant is open), and the restaurant itself. Contrary to the opening hours listed on the website (10 a.m.–10 p.m.), all three were only open from 10 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. A baker who’s supposed to come by daily didn’t show up either. At the bakery, you could buy freshly baked rolls starting at 9:00 a.m. for a lot of money. But even there, if you came as a group of four, there were no rolls left to buy. The amenities were very sparse; for a house meant for 6 people, providing only 6 plates, forks, and knives, etc., is really not enough. All in all, it was unfortunately very disappointing for us. We’re really very easygoing and don’t have high expectations for accommodations, but we’ve never experienced anything like this before.
