Disappointing Stay—Shortcomings in Hygiene, Maintenance, and Service.

​Our stay at EuroParcs Poort van Zeeland was a huge disappointment. Instead of relaxation, we were met with a heavily worn-out, unhygienic house and service that only pretended to address the issues.

​Hygiene & Cleanliness - ​The house had not been cleaned upon … our arrival:

​Bathroom facilities: The toilets were dirty, and we had to thoroughly clean and disinfect them ourselves first.

​Kitchen & Dishes: All kitchen utensils, glasses, plates, pots, and pans were dirty. We had to run the entire set of dishes through the dishwasher several times to clean them. The cutlery consisted of a hodgepodge of individual pieces and wasn’t even enough for a full house. One drinking glass was damaged and had a hole in it.

​Living Area: The dining table was sticky, there were children’s handprints on the windows, and the pendant light above the table was full of cobwebs. There are unidentifiable stains on the walls and ceilings.

​Condition of the House & Damage - ​The property is extremely run-down and poorly maintained:

​The laminate flooring is damaged in many places.

​In the living room, the inner pane of a window has a crack, posing a risk of injury.

​The outdoor unit of the air conditioner was so dirty that the cooling fins were clogged, preventing the house from being cooled adequately.

​Front Door & Insects: The front door does not close flush and appears to be installed crookedly. Insects (ants, beetles, spiders) and even mice are entering the house unhindered through visible gaps at the top and bottom.

​Refrigerator: Nearly all the shelves and all the door shelves are missing from the refrigerator. It’s nearly impossible to store food properly, as everything has to be stacked on a single small glass shelf.

​Customer Service & Problem Resolution - ​Nothing happened in response to our complaint:

At the front desk, we were told that a new front door had already been ordered. However, the service technician who was subsequently dispatched explained that he couldn’t do anything about it and that an outside contractor would have to come.

As for the refrigerator, they pretended to take some measurements (without checking the model number), and after that we never heard from the service department again. Their words and actions are at odds here.

​The cleaning service at the park also gives a very sloppy impression: Cleaners were repeatedly seen having long personal conversations on their cell phones in the garden or taking breaks on the sofa in unoccupied houses, while the properties that were actually rented out were handed over in an unclean state.

​Conclusion & Tip for Future Guests:
​It’s obvious that they’re cutting corners on maintenance and final cleaning.

​Tip for Future Guests: Keep your expectations of the accommodation as low as possible, and be sure to bring your own cleaning supplies, disinfectant wipes, rags, and dishwasher tablets from home. Read more Show less

Overall, it was okay. There weren't enough parking spots, and the ones that were there were too small. It's fine for sleeping, but you can't really go on a proper vacation there. And the cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired—it's really poor.

Unfortunately, there aren't any real dining options.

The tiny house was clean, but the bathroom and bedroom had a very musty smell.
The house heated up quickly, and it was hard to ventilate it without fly screens.
Unfortunately, the restaurant in the park was closed on several days without notice.
