    I’m in love with the Utrechtse Heuvelrug and the Veluwe. That’s why I was looking for another park where I could relax in beautiful surroundings. I chose EuroParcs De Utrechtse Heuvelrug in Maarn. What a beautiful park! Well-maintained, with lovely cottages. It’s a very large park with plenty to do. And you’re close to Recreatiepark … Henschotermeer, the Pyramid of Austerlitz, and, of course, Utrechtse Heuvelrug National Park. I’d booked the Hackfood Wood 6 cottage for myself because the wooden decor really appealed to me. And I wasn’t disappointed.

    A beautiful, spacious living room. A large kitchen with plenty of extra storage space. How happy can you be with extra cabinets to store your own things? I haven’t come across a single other cottage that had that. And in what cottage do you find extra dishwasher tablets and cleaning supplies? A lovely, sturdy wooden dining table with 6 comfortable chairs.
    There were also hooks for hanging your dish towel and hand towel.

    A wide selection of lighting options to choose from: all lights on or mood lighting. A lovely, spacious corner sofa and a separate armchair.

    The only thing I find a bit of a shame is that there’s no roller shade by the front door. Not that someone will suddenly show up at your door, but it might still be nice to be able to close it there as well.

    The bedrooms are fine. All three have plenty of storage space. The beds are a bit narrow (I’m used to a 90-cm bed myself). But they’re comfortable. One minor drawback is the space between the bed and the closet/wall. You can’t be in a hurry.

    The bathroom is very luxurious. It has a lighted mirror. There are also hooks here for hanging a towel. A soap dish in the shower stall. Again, I haven’t seen anything like this anywhere else.

    I had a wonderful time there. The cottage I stayed in overlooked a lawn, so in the mornings it was wonderfully quiet and all you could hear were the birds.

    What I do think is an issue, though, is the access to the cottage. It’s a very narrow gravel path. I had a heavy wheeled suitcase with me, and the wheels sank very deep into the gravel.

    I was there in the late season. The snack bar and the brasserie were closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Fortunately, there’s a pancake restaurant nearby, and Maarn and Woudenberg aren’t far either.

    Ik ben verliefd op de Utrechtse Heuvelrug en de Veluwe. Daarom zocht ik weer een park waar ik heerlijk kon ontspannen in een prachtige omgeving. EuroParcs De Utrechtse Heuvelrug in Maarn werd het. Wat een prachtig park! Goed onderhouden, prachtige huisjes. Het is een zeer groot park, waar van alles te doen is. En je zit dichtbij Recreatiepark Henschotermeer, de Pyramide van Austerlitz en natuurlijk Nationaal Park De Utrechtse Heuvelrug. Ik had voor mezelf huisje Hackfood Wood 6 geboekt, omdat het houten decor me erg aansprak. En ik werd niet teleurgesteld.

    Een prachtige ruime woonkamer. Een grote keuken met veel extra opbergruimte. Hoe blij kun je zijn met extra kastjes om je eigen spullen op te bergen? Ik ben nog geen enkel ander huisje tegengekomen dat dat had. En in welk huisje vind je extra vaatwasblokjes en schoonmaakmiddel? Een heerlijke robuuste houten eettafel met 6 comfortabele stoelen.
    Er waren ook haakjes om je theedoek en handdoek op te hangen.

    Ruime keus aan verlichting om te kiezen wat je wilt: alles aan of sfeerverlichting. Een heerlijke ruime hoekbank en een losse fauteuil.

    Wat ik alleen jammer vind is dat er geen rolgordijn hangt bij de voordeur. Niet dat er ineens iemand voor je deur staat, maar misschien is het toch prettig als je het daar ook kunt dichtdoen.

    De slaapkamers zijn prima. Hebben alle drie voldoende bergruimte. De bedden zijn wel wat smal (ik ben zelf een bed van 90 cm gewend). Maar ze liggen goed. Een minpuntje is de loopruimte tussen het bed en de kast/muur. Je moet geen haast hebben.

    De badkamer is erg luxe. Een spiegel met verlichting. Ook hier weer haakjes om een handdoek op te hangen. Een zeeprekje in de douchecabine. Nogmaals ook dit ben ik nergens anders tegengekomen.

    Ik heb er geweldig genoten. Het huisje dat ik had, had uitzicht op een grasveld, dus 's morgens was het heerlijk rustig en hoorde je alleen de vogels.

    Wat ik wel echt een punt van aandacht vind, is de toegang naar het huisje. Dit is een erg smal grindpad. Ik had een zware rolkoffer bij me en de wielen zakten erg diep weg in het grind.

    Ik was hier in het naseizoen. De snackbar en de brasserie waren op dinsdag en woensdag gesloten. Gelukkig zit er vlakbij een pannenkoekenrestaurant en Maarn en Woudenberg zijn ook niet ver.

    Kortom: een aanrader!
