A day trip to the south

Take a trip south and visit cozy Flemish cities. A 40-minute drive away is Bruges. Stroll through the historic city center, head to one of the 50 chocolatiers and taste a Brugse Zot. Ghent is an hour's drive away. Take a boat trip through the center, see the medieval castle and end the day with a refreshing local beer, the Gentse Strop.

Fun near and in the water

During a glamping vacation on the coast of Zeeland, an active day near or in the water can not be missed! After fifteen minutes of cycling you are at Moio Beach in Cadzand. Rent a SUP to get into the water, go kayaking in the surf, or book a lesson in wave surfing. Don't want to get in the water, but want to do something adventurous on the beach? Then let yourself be pulled by the wind while blokarting or try to control a kite during an afternoon of power kiting. You can also participate in various beach sports such as beach golf, ditch shooting and beach lacrosse. There is something for everyone!

Bird watching in Het Zwin nature reserve

Less than half an hour's drive from the glamping is Het Zwin nature park. This green area is no less than 155 acres and attracts many birds and other animals in addition to people. As you walk through nature you will come across nesting storks, geese and ducks. Before your walk, head toward the center building, where they'll give you all the info you need about the area's nature and wildlife.

A day at the museum

Alternate a day of nature for a day of culture and visit one of the many museums in the area. For a museum full of bizarre inventions, go to the Bizarium in Sluis. A hair growth helmet, a flying bicycle, and a swimming umbrella… you will find it all in this special museum. And that's only a 15-minute drive away. Want to learn more about fishing, marine animals and birds? Then drive 15 minutes to the Fisheries Museum in Breskens. From utensils to fossils and a sea aquarium, through various objects and stories you will dive into the fishing and animal world here. Try tying a fisherman's knot yourself or watch a fisherman make a fishing net.

    Wonderful campsite, absolute recommendation. We stayed at the campsite for just under 14 days and had booked a pitch with a private bathroom. The bathroom was very clean and wonderfully equipped - shower, toilet, washbasin, fridge and a small dishwasher. The pitch was a nice size and offered enough space for the caravan, awning and car. The pitch is mainly on shell limestone and has some grass. There are small beds with grasses and other plants between the pitches to provide privacy. There is a small supermarket in the reception building where you can find everything you need. There is also a small boutique area where you can find clothes, shoes and accessories. The shopping offer is rounded off by a small selection of Rituals products. Also in the reception building is the indoor playground, which our children loved, a seating area for waiting parents and the restaurant. The service in the restaurant is also very good and the prices are fair. You can eat in the restaurant or order pizza to take away, which we did and the pizza was excellent. There is an ice cream van that drives around the campsite and stops at several places. The ice cream was very good and the mobile was a little highlight. Children's entertainment is offered, but we didn't make use of it. There are several playgrounds on the campsite, including smaller water playgrounds, which we enjoyed using. The large water playgrounds and the pool were not yet in use at the end of April/beginning of May. There are 3 washing machines and 2 dryers on the site. You can have money loaded onto your parking card at reception and then use it to pay at the washing machine and dryer - 1x wash €7 & 1x dry €3.50. The beach can be reached quickly on foot or by bike.

    Wunderbarer Campingplatz, absolute Empfehlung. Wir waren knapp 14 Tage auf dem Campingplatz und hatten eine Parzelle mit Privatbad gebucht. Das Bad war sehr sauber und wunderbar ausgestattet - Dusche, Toilette, Waschtisch, Kühlschrank und einerkleinen Geschirrspülmaschine. Die Parzelle hatte eine schöne Größe und bot ausreichend Platz für den Wohnwagen, das Vorzelt und das Auto. Am Stellplatz hat man überwiegen Muschelkalk als Untergrund und etwas Rasen. Zwischen den Parzellen sind kleine Beete mit Gräsern und anderen Pflanzen als Sichtschutz angelegt. Im Rezeptionsgebäude ist ein kleiner Supermarkt untergebracht, in dem man alles findet, was man braucht. Dazu gibt es einen kleinen Boutique Bereich, in dem man Kleidung, Schuhe und Accessoires findet. Abgerundet wird das Shopping Angebot durch eine kleine Produktauswahl von Rituals. Ebenfalls im Rezeptionsgebäude befindet sich der Indoorspielplatz, den unsere Kinder ganz toll fanden, ein Sitzbereich für die wartenden Eltern und das Restaurant. Der Service im Restaurant ist ebenfalls sehr gut und die Preise sind fair. Man kann im Restaurant essen oder sich Pizza zum Mitnehmen bestellen, was wir gemacht haben und die Pizza war hervorragend. Es gibt ein Eismobil, was über den Platz fährt und an mehreren Stellen halt macht. Das Eis war sehr gut und das Mobil ein kleines Highlight. Kinderanimation wird angeboten, die haben wir nicht in Anspruch genommen. Auf dem Platz gibt es mehrere Spielplätze, u.a. auch kleinere Wasserspielplätze, die wir gerne genutzt haben. Der große Wasserspielplätze und der Pool waren Ende April/Anfang Mai noch nicht in Betrieb. Auf dem Platz gibt es 3 Waschmaschinen und 2 Trockner. Man kann sich an der Rezeption Geld auf die Parkkarte laden lassen und dann damit an der Waschmaschine und am Trockner bezahlen - 1x waschen 7€ & 1x trocken 3.50€. Der Strand ist fußläufig oder mit dem Fahrrad schnell zu erreichen.

    The Strandweelde beach huts are a dream, simply because of their location directly on the beach / directly by the sea. Absolute relaxation for a few days. What is really frustrating: The clear preference for Dutch (local) guests over German customers. One is sent away because it is still 8 minutes before the check-in time of 3 pm, the other is allowed to check in 5 minutes before. This feels very strange and unbalanced....

    Die Strandhäuschen von Strandweelde sind ein Traum, allein aufgrund ihrer Lage direkt auf dem Strand / direkt am Meer. Absolute Entschleunigung für ein paar Tage. Was wirklich frustrierend ist: Die eindeutige Bevorzugung niederländischer (einheimischer) Gäste gegenüber deutschen Kunden. Der eine wird weggeschickt, weil es noch 8 min vor der Eincheck-Zeit 15 Uhr ist, der andere darf 5 min vorher doch Einchecken. Das fühlt sich sehr komisch und unausgewogen an....

    We were there for a few days with the caravan in mid-April 26. Overall a very beautiful area, especially for long bike tours towards Belgium. Long, beautiful sandy beaches. Washing facilities for camping users a little poor and in small numbers in containers. The site consists mainly of vacation homes. Everything very clean. Friendly and welcoming reception staff. Restaurant on the campsite just great. 5 🌟 Known from television. Overall happy to come back. Especially the restaurant. 😅

    Wir waren Mitte April 26 ein paar Tage mit dem Wohnwagen dort. Insgesamt eine sehr schöne Gegend, speziell für ausgedehnte Radtouren Richtung Belgien. Lange schöne Sandstrände. Waschgelegenheiten für Campingnutzer etwas dürftig und in geringer Anzahl in Containern. Überwiegend besteht der Platz aus Ferienhäusern. Alles sehr sauber. Personal an der Rezeption freundlich und herzlich. Restaurant auf dem Campingplatz einfach nur spitze. 5 🌟 Bekannt aus dem Fernsehen. Insgesamt gerne wieder. Vor allem ins Restaurant. 😅
