Camping Bella ItaliaWe were looking forward to a great vacation on Lake Garda, but our stay at Camping Bella Italia has been a disappointment - and unfortunately not one we will repeat. The bungalow appeared worn and with a poor indoor climate. There was air conditioning, but it was not intuitive to use. The beds were below reproach: In the children's room, you lay directly on the springs in one bed and the other seemed almost springless. The parents' bed was slightly better, but still not suitable for co-sleeping - which makes the bungalow unsuitable for families where the children sleep with the parents. The campsite's vegetation was nice and provided shade, but unfortunately also blocked any natural ventilation - even on days with strong winds over Lake Garda. In the area around the bungalow we also found broken glass, nails and screws in the grass - quite unsafe, especially with children. The swimming areas may have been nice once, but they were constantly crowded and characterized by deafeningly loud music. Especially during Aqua Fitness, the sound level was unbearable. There is another, quieter pool area by the hotel, which is marked on the campsite map, but it turned out to be reserved for hotel guests - something that in my opinion borders on misleading marketing. The restaurants on the campsite are exactly what you would fear in a closed destination with no competition: high prices and low quality. We ate there a few times and only during off-peak hours - it was the only way to get quick service. Bella Italia consistently tries to maximize revenue: for example, the birthday kids of the week were invited to a "party" where you had to buy tokens to try the entertainment. The staff seemed indifferent, and even the mascot sat passively occupying a chair. The atmosphere was anything but festive. The great strength of Bella Italia is its location. But instead of using it to create a great starting point for experiences in the local area, it tries to hold on to guests and their money - ultimately stifling the surrounding community. Use Bella Italia as a base - and nothing else. ☕ Have your morning coffee at a local café. 🍝 Have dinner in Peschiera or San Benedetto, where quality and service are far better. 🛍️ Support local merchants and restaurateurs who actually take pride in what they do. Lake Garda is stunning and the area has a lot to offer - just not at Bella Italia.

HindeloopenVery nice vacation home for four people - nicely furnished, with a chic interior design! The kitchen is well equipped, but one small but crucial detail is missing: a paring knife. (Who likes cutting peppers with a bread knife, right?) The sofa has definitely seen a few Netflix evenings - a little worn, but still comfortable. The bedroom is rather "cozy", and the children's room... well, let's put it this way: ideal for small children. Older children would have to fold up like origami. The toilet and bathroom look really nice, but are very cramped. Hanging up towels is a logistical feat - even with three people. The park itself is pleasantly quiet - pure natural idyll. Only the bedroom walls are so thin that wind and rain can sometimes act as an alarm clock. If you sleep like a rock in a storm, you won't notice a thing. Everyone else: welcome to the bedtime radio play "Stormy rain over Friesland". Pure nature - including inhabitants with eight legs The location in the middle of nature is fantastic! The IJsselmeer on the left, sheep on the dam on the right! Mega! Fortunately, our vacation home had mosquito nets everywhere - absolutely necessary, as everything outside was decorated with spider webs, as if Tim Burton had designed the set. At check-in, we first had to remove around 30 (!) spiders - indoors. The apartment was otherwise clean, but the creepy-crawlies obviously felt very much at home. Over the next few days, we had 3 to 5 new "roommates" every day. As a spider-phobe, I was on constant alert - and with the firm wish that spiders would NOT be able to crawl out of the vacuum cleaner again. Sitting outside or hanging out the washing? Only for the adventurous. Overnight, everything was reliably re-spun - as if the spiders had written their own Airbnb review: "Top location, lots of space for webs! Will be back!" It's only a short walk to the beach - and it's really beautiful! The different groups of visitors (party kids, families, dog people) somehow organized themselves - without any barrier tape. The beach bar, on the other hand, seems to have decided to sleep for a long time - deserted and out of sight. However, anyone looking for activities, boutiques, nice cafés or halfway decent restaurants on vacation should lower their expectations. There are almost exclusively small villages all around - charming but sleepy. The term "going out" here is limited to: "We're going to the supermarket". The small store in the park is, to put it kindly, minimalistically stocked. The nearest useful store is 20 minutes away by car - so it's better to arrive with supplies or bring your improv cooking skills. Somewhat strange: the ladies at reception don't say hello. Perhaps shy? Perhaps philosophically lost in thought? We don't know. The restaurant in the EuroParc only serves fried food and stuff from the microwave - with very limited opening hours. So you have to conjure up your own culinary highlights here. Conclusion: If you don't have a problem with spiders, don't value culinary sophistication or a bit of shopping and can adjust to a little camping feeling in the house, you can spend a few really relaxing days here - with nature, peace and quiet and short distances to the beach. More of a test of courage than a relaxing vacation for arachnophobes and adventurers.

Vielleicht philosophisch in Gedanken versunken? Kulinarische Highlights muss man hier also selbst zaubern.

De Utrechtse HeuvelrugUnfortunately, I had a very disappointing experience with this accommodation. Due to unforeseen circumstances, I reached out well in advance to ask for a change of dates, but was met with a complete lack of flexibility or willingness to help. While other hotels in the same situation showed understanding and offered solutions, here I was simply told to cancel – no voucher, no postponement. It's incredibly frustrating to see such poor customer service, especially when plans change due to factors beyond one's control. I would not recommend booking here.

Camping Demoiselles PlageGreat campsite, the staff are lovely and take great care of their campers! 😁 Ideally located, it's a 5-minute walk from the beach and a 5-minute drive from Saint Jean de Monts. Different entertainment is offered every day and it benefits from a swimming pool. The mobile homes are clean and well equipped 👌. I therefore recommend this campsite 😉.
