We stayed there for six nights. We had great weather and a really nice family vacation.

A really fun campground with lots of play areas, a great pool, and shaded campsites. There might have been a bit of a shortage of (hard-to-spot) staff at the restaurant at times, but that was only for a day or two. In short, a fun, neat, and clean campground with plenty of entertainment for the kids!

Overall, we had a wonderful stay at this campground. The campground’s concept is truly well-executed, and the entire facility gives the impression of being well-maintained and family-friendly.

We’d especially like to highlight the young staff. All the employees were friendly, helpful, and approachable at all times. Whenever we had a concern or needed something, someone was there right away. The entertainment program was also varied and well-organized. The pool area is beautifully designed and clean. The restroom facilities for campers were also always neat and well-maintained. Washing machines are available on-site, which makes the stay even more convenient. Another big plus is the location—the beach is right across the street and thus just a few minutes away.

Unfortunately, upon our arrival, there were a few issues with our Premium Bungalow (No. 38). The accommodation had obviously not been thoroughly cleaned. A strong fishy odor was coming from the refrigerator, which was very unpleasant. The grill was unusable due to heavy rust.

The kitchen equipment also left much to be desired. The frying pan was unusable due to a severely damaged and already peeling Teflon coating and should have been replaced long ago.

There were also several issues in the bathroom. The shower door was defective and wouldn’t close properly. There was mold in the shower, and in some places the grout between the tiles was missing or had not been applied properly. In addition, the shower was constantly dripping, which was very annoying over time. The mirror also didn’t appear to be securely fastened and felt as though it was hanging by just one nail.

It was particularly disappointing that the photos of the Premium Bungalows—such as those shown on Google—unfortunately did not match reality in our case. Our Premium Bungalow No. 38 made a significantly worse impression than the published photos suggested. That’s a shame, because the campground itself actually has great potential thanks to its concept, beautiful grounds, and dedicated staff. Unfortunately, this overall positive impression was considerably marred by the condition of our Premium Bungalow.

Based on our family members’ experiences, however, we can also report something positive about the glamping accommodations. These were modernly equipped, well-maintained, and overall made a much higher-quality impression. Anyone planning a stay at this campground should therefore consider the glamping accommodations instead.

We came for 3 days in 2022, without really knowing the place. As a result, we decided without hesitation to come back and extend our stay. I think you have to keep the place a secret to make sure you can come back 😊. In our opinion, this side of the island is the best, at least by our standards. It's now our top vacation spot. We can't wait until 2025, when we'll be able to move the caravan back and enjoy a great vacation.

Half of our cottage was in disrepair when we arrived; the resident’s husband fixed almost everything and was really super nice, but the woman (the resident) was always super grumpy and never really friendly. Especially at the restaurant, she ignored us the whole time, and after 20 minutes we finally had to walk over to her to ask for something to drink, only to be met with a sigh and a fake smile. The only good things were the beautiful location and the fun times with my family, but I won’t be coming back here.

It was so dirty.
Our campsite was littered with trash. It smelled like urine. The showers and restrooms were dirty. Some of them were broken. We paid 88.00 euros for one night—two people and four dogs.
The neighbors’ kids urinated on our site.
We waited 30 minutes for a takeout pizza, only to get the wrong one—for a measly 15 euros. Really awful.....

Heerlijke 2 weken gehad op camping Steniole. De prachtige ligging op een heuvel in de Vogezenbossen zorgde voor verkoeling in warme weken en nodigde uit tot prachtige hikes. Zowel direct vanaf de camping (met een heel tof beekje onder de camping) als verderop in de Vogezen. Zo zijn we naar de Hohneck en de Col de la Schlucht geweest. Leuke sfeer op camping als je met kids zoals wij waren. Hebben zich uitstekend vermaakt met speeltuin, zwembad, de zwemvijver en vriendinnen op de camping. Ook een pluim voor Bjorn, de Nederlandse animator - de meiden waren groot fan van hem en de activiteiten. Elke ochtend lekker vers brood (achja daar moest je soms even op wachten, maar het is vakantie…), en prima eten bij restaurant en pizzeria. Wifi was inderdaad matig maar dit hebben wij niet gemist in deze prachtige omgeving. Onze stacaravan was prima, wel wat gedateerd. Er zijn verschillende nieuwe stacaravans neergezet afgelopen jaar. Zwembad heerlijk water, wel wat druk op piekmomenten. Camping personeel vriendelijk en behulpzaam, je merkt dat het in handen van een betrokken familie is. Genoeg te doen in omgeving. Al met al genoten van een actieve vakantie in de Vogezen!
